Hehehehehe. Right boutons, don't believe you lying eyes and ears.

I loved the part where you need photo id to get in Justice Department building. Guess
they don't want the poor and downtrodden littering their hallways...

So what they're saying is that when the real Holder shows up, they're not going to notice somebody already voted for him?

What's preventing the already-felon from creating a fake ID of Holder?

Can anyone explain to me why having to show a government issued id to vote is a problem? I still don't get the anti id side's point. Serious question as a voter who wants to prevent voter fraud

"government issued id to vote is a problem"

many poor people don't (can't afford to) drive, no DL, don't have birth certs, or any photo ID.

The sole objective of the VRWC/ALEC/Repug voter ID is suppression strategy of poor (Dem) voters for the false, fabricated crisis of voter fraud (elections thrown to Dems. election fraud for Repug winners is OK), for which no evidence has been shown nor prosecutions made.

Sorry, they can't play on the blue team unless they are against voter ID laws and blindly claim it will disenfranchise millions of people without ID's from voting..

solution in search of a problem.

registration fraud isn't a a statistically significant threat to elections; as a result, voter ID laws are likely to exclude far more eligible voters than crooks.

Considering you need an id to pick up mail, welfare checks, and almost anything else it doesn't seem like its that big of a deal. Are state issued id free? In SC I know you could get one for free by going to the DMV.

To me as someone who has no political leaning overall, I would rather all voters have to show id. It just seems as though it's an important responsibility that should be taken seriously and yet there are less restrictions on it than picking up a package at the post office. Heck even my hardcore libertarian friend(infowars type) thinks you should have to show id.

Btw since I've lived in Texas and voted in the last few elections, they've made me sign and show id each time. Anyway I guess it's just another thing to bicker over and call each other names about

And wasn't there a study that showed there were more people with driver's licenses than registered voters?

Requiring photo id doesn't "disenfranchise" anyone.

    What voter fraud?

Even the Bush DOJ couldn't find any evidence of widespread fraud when they made finding and prosecuting it a priority for five years.

Detroit has more registered voters than residents over 18, Census finds

    http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article...-census-finds#
"Because of the National Voter Registration Act (of 1983), we are required to hold onto and include in our count those who more than likely be should cancelled because they have moved, relocated and the like, or there has been no activity for a number of years," City Clerk Janice Winfrey said. "However, we have to hold them for two consecutive federal elections. So after this federal election, by the beginning of 2013, we'll have nearly 30,000 we can cancel."

In other cir stances, federal law only allows local election officials to purge a name from the voter rolls when notified by the individual or a reliable source of information (such as a death certificate) that the person is no longer eligible to vote in that district — or if a voter registration card is returned as undeliverable by the U.S. Postal Service.

Detroit Director of Elections Daniel Baxter said that his department has been working with the health department and local newspapers to get accurate information about deaths. (Neither dying nor moving automatically purges a voter from the rolls, unless, in the case of the latter, the former resident receives a new driver's license – and voter registration – in another jurisdiction.)....

Let's be clear - nowhere near this number of residents has turned out to vote in recent memory. In 2009's special, primary and regular elections, turnout ranged from roughly 15 percent to 24 percent, which, if I recall correctly, was about 130,000 voters. In the 2008 presidential election, official turnout was 53 percent. So while there are more registered voters than residents over 18, the number of people who have actually cast ballots is well within the number of Detroiters who are eligible to do so.
    lol
