Hopefully this means Mike Brown will only use Bynum to backup Gasol.
I'm not sure if this has already been posted within another thread...
Mike Brown still gets advice from Gregg Popovich

Even though he is associated most with Cleveland, where he coached LeBron James and the Cavaliers in 2005-10, Mike Brown’s real homecomings in the NBA are Philadelphia and San Antonio.
Brown has a lot of extended family in Philly, but his parents and both his sisters live in San Antonio. They relocated there after seeing San Antonio’s virtues while Brown served as Gregg Popovich’s assistant coach with the Spurs in 2000-03, appreciating the warm weather and cost of living.
In some ways, Popovich is family, too.
“Times get tough at certain times for me,” Brown said. “He’s probably the guy that I reach out to more than anybody else, and he knows me well enough to where if I haven’t reached out to him, I’ll see I got a phone call from him or a text from him. He’s been great for me — and not just for me, but for my entire family.” ....for more of the article click here: http://lakers.ocregister.com/2012/04...opovich/70948/

Not only that, but the Lakers run the Spurs offense, now.
Bynum as the stretch 4. Good call, Mike.
Our coach is better at screaming and waving his arms about
![]()
And let Bonner guard Bynum? Say it ain't so.
Chuck Person took the Spurs' defensive principals to the Lakers last year. Now they've copied both the offense and defense.
I guess The Simulator Crew knows a thing or two![]()
They really run our offense now? Wtf?
Good point. I don't see Manu chucking up 30 shots a game.
Yep. In fact, Kobe talked about it on a national radiio interview, how learning the offense wasn't too difficult due to their familiarity with facing it over the years.
I don't even see how that's possible without their lack of three point shooters and two dominant big
Lame
They run the twin tower stuff Pop used to run with TD and Robinson. It seems Pop no longer believes in a twin tower offense. I've seen them do stuff like run a pick and roll with Gasol and Bynum. I think TD and Splitter could do something similar. But Pop won't even explore the possibilities.
