    Acording to beat writer Kevin Ding, Kobe is out... My guess is the big 3 will also be out... Pop will settle for the 2 seed and use this time for rest, since falling to 3 is practically impossible...

    @KevinDing
    Kobe got some shots up today -- pain-free -- for 1st time since sitting out. Running and jumping next. But he won't play vs. Spurs tomorrow.

    I've agreed with all of Pop's scheduled rests so far this season but sitting all of the Big 3 out tomorrow would be a huge mistake, IMO.

    Sad thing is that even if/when Kobe comes back they know they can still torch us in the paint. Kobe wants to win. If the Lakers are smart their gameplan will not change when he returns. And if we do face them in the playoffs, we better come up with something to counter those big men. I have lost hope in seeing Splitter and Duncan in at the same time.

    I agree! Sad, but true! With Kone in the floor, mercifully Andrew Bynum (Wilt, against the Spurs), becomes a second option and more timid on the boards.

    I agree.

    The only reason to rest anyone tomorrow is if things go very badly tonight and someone has to play extended minutes. Otherwise, they can rest in Sacramento.

    While some of these dynamics are likely to be true, I disagree on what you're expecting the final result to be.

    In any case, let's just beat Golden State and go all out against the Lakers. I'm thinking that this game should be closer than the last one no matter what happens.

    But they have two big men each averaging over 10 boards a game. We do not even have one player on our team doing that right now. With or without Kobe we lose the rebounding battle. Our key to beating the Lakers is just flat out shooting better from FG% and 3pt%. On top of that we have to play stellar defense and TRY to keep them out of the paint as much as possible. Lakers are going to be tough to beat with or without Kobe, you are kidding yourself if you think it gets easier when Kobe comes back.

    We have no answer for Bynum and Gasol. Size matters.

    Wrong!!! Kobe wants to win with Kobe being the star. When Kobe returns he will shoot 20 times a game minimum. Bank on it.

    Sure, but after coaching the Lakers I think Kobe is starting to come around. Besides, even if Kobe took 20+ shots per game he's a great shooter and he'd likely make a good number of them what with our wings cheating to the paint...

    You appear to be implying that you have a small penis.
    So it's not just me who read it that way.

    They don't need to play any of their guys more than 15 minutes to beat the Warriors, and it won't be a physical game at all.

    Why would it be any concern to L.A. that Kobe is out against the Spurs? They destroyed us last week and beat Dallas on Sunday without him. They are very comfortable with Bynum being their go-to guy. At this point, the burden of proof is clearly on the opposing team to show that L.A. is dependent on Kobe Bryant for a win against outer elite western teams.

    A slip of the keyboard perhaps?

    I would agree with you though. It looks like the Lakers are doing well with Bynum and even with Kobe back the things they beat us with last game: rebounding, size, and packing the paint are still significant issues.
