I was thinking 6' even, then I checked Wikipedia and he was 6'2" (short for a wrestler.)

I met him once in person. I was going through EOD school at Eglin AFB, FL, around 2000. He came to the BX as part of a meet and greet for the troops... rolled up in a Humvee. Seemed like a nice guy, and I was glad to meet him even if it was only for a moment.

I was too young to really be part of the Steamboat days... I grew up on the Macho/Hulk era.

I could never get into Hulk. It was just not for me. He had no finishing hold worth a damn, so I knew going into a match there wasn't going to be a payoff. With Macho, you had a variety of endings coming no matter what. Though him taking some poor sap on Monday nite to the top rope for a suplex was just amazing. I mean I could say I would do it in McMahon's office early in the day, sign the contract, go to the ring, but, there is no way I could actually make my body go up there. Like skydiving, you can take me up there, but, if I get my arms around a stationary object, I ain't goin' out that in' door.
