Lakers make more than that on hot-dog sales…![]()
but is it worth it?
We don't eat weiners we eat women's Tacos.
Biggest draw in the NBA....Come on! Folks don't bust down the doors to see Josh McRoberts and Matt Barnes...
Incidentally 83 mil is the net worth of the Spurs owner...![]()
every ing cent
Yes. Because he sells. Whether his level of play has dropped off or not, he's relevant, sells tickets, sells jerseys, gets TV ratings, and keeps Kobe fanbois and Kobe haters like you alike talking about him even when he's not playing. He's one of those pro athletes who can carry a franchise with his celebrity as much as with his play. If he wasn't worth it, you wouldn't make so many threads and posts about him. He sells. That alone makes him worth it.
Gosh, I sure hope that is the case...

Kobe = Zero ring w/o Pau/Shaq
And he made the Lakers a lottery team after Shaq left, lol.
What does that say about the Spurs organization to you?![]()
That hurt my feelings, I live in LA County...![]()
For any other team, no, but LA s money so it's kinda NBD to them.
I wasn't talking about the business.
I meant "Is this money worth of chasing a NBA le?(unlikely)
That Kobe owns them at 5>4 and again at 83>82 million![]()
true but it's still
Kobe 5 Gasol 2
Kobe 5 Shaq 4
Kobe 5 Duncan 4
Kobe 2
Shaq 1

Like you.
The NBA is a business. That's absolutely part of a player's worth, particularly a max franchise player. It cant be ignored. As long as the Lakers stay relevant and sell, Kobe is worth the money. If his level of drops ends up negatively affecting the Lakers' ability to sell, then he'll start not bring worth it.
Chasing championships don't always end up with winning it all. Take the Spurs for example. They haven't won a le in 5 years. Does that mean their highest paid players aren't worth their salaries? No. As long as a team wins and legitimately competes and sells tickets, most of the time that's enough to make those highest paid players worth the money. Its about the product on the court AND the ability to sell.
Slow your roll... there's more Spurs fans here than you probably think.

Kobe brings in more than he takes, tbh. If he were to be traded, there are some teams that might consider it based on the possibility that he will put their franchise under the media microscope.
