Odd half. The Spurs are shooting well enough to be ahead, however the whistle hasn't been on their side. That should probably even out in the second half ... but then again the Spurs are probably due for a cold shooting spell.

Tbh, the reason why this game is close is that the bench didn't do what the bench usually does. Somehow, the Lakers bench outplayed the Spurs bench. That should never happen. With Duncan a +17 at halftime, the Spurs should be up 20 or more points.

The role players need to step up in the 2nd half. If Barnes, MWP, McRoberts, Blake end up outplaying SJax, Neal, Bonner, Diaw we lose this matchup every single time. The starters have kept us in it, but the bench needs to man up. And Splitter needs to learn to foul less and stay on the floor.

hard to imagine since the guy is playing exactly like shaq... bounce, backup that ass with full force, bounce, repeat until under the basket, turn around elbow swinging jump shot.

Jon Barry is such a . He thinks it's the Spurs fault they only have 5 FTA and the Lakers have 15.
He's ignoring that foul calls outside of the paint are leading to a lot of Laker FTs. The Spurs were not getting those calls, but then they aren't attacking the rim. They are playing outside. That's probably their game plan, but they have to speed it up in the 2nd half. The Lakers cannot keep up if the Spurs push.

True. The bench has been a non factor tonight. Need more of Jax, Bonner, Splitter and Green. Even Neal despite him having 5 points.

Tim, Tony, Manu, Leonard, and Diaw have been excellent so far.

Manu gambled a lot, turned the ball over a few times and looked a bit out of sorts. The bench normally runs better than that. We'll see how they do in the 2nd half.

Bonners defense has been pretty damn good.
I know, I thought he did a great job on Gasol but we need his 3's in the 2nd half.

Why would it even out, we're shooting jumpers while they are pounding it inside.

True. We also have nothing for Metta, he outpowers anyone we put on him.

I think this is the type of game where the Spurs should mix and match a little more.

They need to pass him the ball. He only has 1 attempt. That crazy floater that went in.

Tiago draws a lot of fouls if he can get touches on the pick and roll and he's been shooting the FTs ok.

If the bench shows up, we got this... we just need to keep scoring at a good clip

A lot of their fouls have been touch fouls out on the perimeter ... or in the backcourt. I can only think of a couple that were a result of "pounding inside".

They are bodying Tony more this game than last, and Session as a couple fouls because of it. Tony should exploit that, force the issue and get him in foul trouble. We should go right at Bynum in the paint, get him pissed.

Timmy is outplaying Bynum, Kobe is near non existent but we are still in the fight of our life, bench needs to step up, as does Manu

But for god's sake man, it's regular season, it ain't the game 7 of the WCF
Hate to tell you but the match - ups for the WCF and the NBA finals are being impacted by these games NOW.

Do you really imagine that a national tv audience for games 1-6 (never mind 7) of the WC series would be as big for a S.A. vs. O.K. match-up as it would for a L.A. vs. ANYBODY?

Correct. Half their fouls were called on fouls to MWP/Barnes/Kobe

Kobe is gonna try to take over the game in the fourth, and will get any foul call he wants. He was just laughing when he was taking those last shots. He knows he can get anything he wants.
