Whoops..double post and tried to seperate that text out...my bad.
Here's what I predict the lineups will be against Utah...if Al Jefferson is playing like he did tonight this team could be a tough out.
I don't see Pop taking Leonard and Green out of the starting rotation...they're playing too well to do that. Tony should tool Harris. Hayward v. Leonard should be interesting...two young players who have alot to prove. I think Diaw is a perfect fit defensively against Millsap...no size advantage there. Duncan should negate whatever amount of production that Jefferson puts out. This series will be won on our guard play which is clearly superior.
San Antonio v. Utah
First Team
PG: Tony Parker--- Devin Harris
SG: Danny Green--- C. J. Miles
SF: Kawhi Leonard--- Gordan Hayward
PF: Boris Diaw--- Paul Millsap
C: Al Jefferson ---Tim Duncan
I realize that Utah probably won't play ten man rotation...but I'm figuring we will and I'm just guessing as to who they would match up with.
Once you reach the bench, you start to see how deep this team is. Manu Ginobili coming off the bench will light up almost any combination of second unit players that comes in for Utah. Matt Bonner seems to be the best fit against Favors...Blair just doesn't match up with his size. Splitter could also be an option on Favors if Pop doesn't view Kanter as much of an offensive threat.
San Antonio v. Utah
Bench
PG: Gary Neal ---Earl Watson
SG: Manu Ginobili Alec--- Burks/Raja Bell
SF: Stephen Jackson ---Jeremy Evans
PF: Matt Bonner--- Derrick Favors
C: Tiago Splitter--- Enes Kanter
Overall, it's going to be physical but I don't see the series going past six games.

Can't wait to win this. I'm confident in this year's team. 10 times more than last year

I think you're being too generous. MAYBE 5 games!!
I don't think the Jazz can win...they're way too young to beat our combination of athleticism and experience. However I will be pretty worried if we come out flat in Game 1 and give it away.
Spurs must stay focused and ready to fight, Jazz have one of the best results at home they won't be easy to beat in their walls.
Believe
5 games max ... win the two home games ... steal one road game and end this at home again ... hopefully the Spurs are not rusty going into game 1
10 men rotation is agreed upon by the way
Do you think Manu will still come off the bench in the Playoffs? Let me doubt that...
Manu will come off the bench ... Pop goes with whats working ... if its not working anymore in the playoffs he will change it
10 men rotation????
so you guys want Tim still play only 28 minutes in the PO?
or Manu 23?
Tiago 19?
yeah sure, this will increase our chance to win.
or do you assume they extend the games to 60 minutes?
btw. most of the mentioned match ups are nonsense.
Not meaning to be an arse, but why is Tim Duncan playing for Utah and Al Jefferson playing for the Spurs?
Depth works well in the regular season but I'm not sure it will make a huge difference in the playoffs.
tim duncan and paul millsap doing damage on our frontline. Utah in 6
as long as coach Pop bench blair then we're fine.
it can still ends up being Denver, the team we will face!
if Denver lose their last two games on the road to OKC and Min while Utah win their last game, home against Portland, realistic scenario more or less...
If any team can and should use a deeper rotation this team should. The game that we've been playing has obviously been working. Why tinker with that just because the le of the game is different? Not saying that Pop shouldn't match what they're doing but to limit ourselves to 8 guys when we have 10 who are worthy of playing would be dumb.
Is there any possible way Dallas drops to 8? Or are they 6/7 regardless
I see Spurs in 5. With Duncan, Parker and Manu playing the most min on the team. Splitter will play good min but not as much as some SpursTalk fans want him to play (which is ok with me).
Bonner is playing defense much better than years past so I have a much better feeling about him this year in the playoffs.
I can't wait to see how Pop divides up the mins in the playoffs.
If it's working, why not? The thing about our depth is there's not a lot of drop off in talent, I'll bet that we see a ten man rotation in playoffs. If bonner chokes then divide his minutes between tiago and diaw.
Spurs beat Jazz 3 times, and lost once @Jazz playing only the Spurs junior varsity.
Spurs should be worried if it goes more than 5, and really worried if Spurs allow a split of Games1,2.
stick with the 10 man rotation for the first round. increase big 3 and splitters minutes as playoffs go on
oh, and get your brooms ready in round 1
