This is how it will be.
It will be the noon game. It's the least attractive game, from a national TV perspective, of the 4 Sunday games. The Spurs have had that early Sunday game in the past.
This is how it will be.
That is if the Clippers get HC, which is very unlikely. I miscalculated TN/TX locations before making det post.
It doesn't matter. Memphis is in the central time zone like San Antonio.
The Clippers fan base is on the west coast so they will get the 9:30 time slot.
they have a fanbase?![]()
Makes more sense to show them right after the Lakers, so that more people in LA just switch the channel to watch their other local team right away instead of making them wait through the Spurs/Utah game.
No makes more sense to show them in prime time on the west coast.
Damn, I'm playing in our club championship second round starting at !2:30 Sunday. Wanted game to be Sat night, now I have to record game and watch it Sunday night.
With Pop resting our older players all week, the Sunday start was unnessessary now....Now there is a greater chance od Manu being really rusty again with 6 days off.
The Laker game will be on ABC and the Clipper game will be the late game. Now you have the Celtics and Spurs. One gets aired between the two LA games and one gets aired when half the country is still sleeping or in church.
I'm sure that I'll be driving to the AT&T Center on Sunday morning.
I'm worried about this as well. Maybe they can rush and fly to GS for tonights game![]()
At least the bench will have some rhythm
Now that I'm starting to really think about it, I agree. I think we will get stuck with the Noon slot. this.
I don't think it's going to matter if tipoff is at noon. After last season's embarrassing playoff exit, this team will come into the playoffs with more focus than the last 4 championships runs combined. I think the Spurs are aware that this may be their last real chance at a ring, and that everything has fallen into place for them at this point. They'll be ready
I agree that the Spurs will be focused but the team never plays as well during the day and having to go down their early on Sunday sucks as well. The crowd isn't as into the game at that time as well.
It's just overall a bad time for a game.
Isn't the noon game more than likely on ABC? Usually the crappy series gets stuck on ESPN.
Another thing, starting on Sunday gives Tim, Tony and Manu five days off.
I do agree with you about Sunday early afternoon crowds sucking big time at the at&t center
hopefully an afternoon game
plisssssssssss
Dag if this format stays we might very well have the Noon game. Guess we'll know for sure tonight.

Looking more and more like it unfortunately. Really hoping that can somehow change this year and the crowd is fired up.
The Spurs got the Sunday noon game last year against Memphis.
Last year on Sunday:
Noon: Spurs vs. Memphis
2:30: Lakers vs. Hornets
7:00: Celtics vs. Knicks
9:30: Thunder vs. Nuggets
There's a small chance the Spurs could get 7:00 time slot because the Celtics are playing the Hawks this year and not the Knicks, but it's doubtful. Spurs vs. Jazz would be ratings disaster.
Let's hope the Spurs are actually awake this year.
Clippers probably can't win without homecourt. Hollins > Del Negro
I hate that they get 5 days off. The last time thay had 5 days off, they stunk it up at home against the Bulls. Who needs 5 days off? It is not like they are injured, they have been averaging a game every two days for 4 months, and they have flourished. So what kind of benefit is for them to sit on their asses for 5 days?
Pop should have played Manu last night and played TD and TP tonight to stay in game shape, and not let rust settle in.

That can't be the right order...
ESPN still shows a 7pm and 9:30pm start for Saturday... who hosts the 9:30 (central) game? Are they moving the start times up and overlapping two games (unlikely) to a 6 and 8:30 start to give the 8:30 to OKC?
Agree and the last few games have been blowouts. The last time they played playoff intensity minutes was probably the Lakers game.
