He started 0-5 on three pointers with the Spurs and now he's 7-12. TBH if Bonner wants to choke again we have someone to take his minutes and provide some of the same benefits.

There's no doubt whether Bonner will choke or not. He already started to!

I liked the comment someone posted earlier, that Bonner is like snow... Oh wait, there is no snow in April, May, June...

I think Diaw actually has a chance to be a neutralizing factor in dealing with Utah's big lineup. If he's on the floor, one of those big guys has to come out to him on the offensive end; on the defensive end, he's good enough that he can credibly defend one of the 3 as well.

He's about as close as we've come to Robert Horry. He's quite a different player, but if Utah wants to play big ball, I think Diaw has the potential to take away the perceived defensive advantages.

Diaw does look more comfortable from 3, and while he will never blow up the stat sheet, he is the type of player that will make the timely pass/shot to make a difference in a series. He is tough to defend because he is a big who can start at the perimeter and drive to the lane before making a pass or finishing at the basket. We already saw what he can do against an agile big like Pau Gasol on the perimeter.

Defensively, right from the start he showed his defensive diversity by guarding Dirk. Plus has the ability to guard smaller/quicker players. Shouldn't get beat too often from switches on PnR (Splitter is the same).

If we had another decent big on the roster and wouldn't have to worry about foul trouble, I'd wouldn't mind a line up of: TP, Manu, Diaw, TD, Splitter to try against the Jazz.

Diaw has to actually shoot the ball though... which he hasnt been too keen on recently.

Agreed, though I don't know that he has to be a volume shooter to be effective.

Bonner is going to win us some games in the playoffs. Maybe not last second shot, but he'll go in and hit 3 or 4 three-pointers and take a close game to a blow out.

actually Diaw hasn't been keen on shooting throughout his career. He's a pass first forward.

that role is covered by the career-ineffective SJax.
