DRob is one of those guys where I don't know if I'll ever truly know the extent of his mental strength and leadership.. he had great stats on bad teams, played great defense and still took those somewhat under talented teams decently far, sort of like the Nash of centers tbh.
But it is what it is: he just couldn't get it done on his own and the haters will say it's because he was weak mentally and just couldn't lead a team to go all the way, while his supporters will say he never had the surrounding cast until Tim Duncan arrived, among other arguments of course. And in the end I'm not sure if either group will ever be able to call scoreboard.

DRob was a freak like Blake Griffin. Dude wasn't normal physically, never saw anyone like him in the game before or since with his abilities, but he wasn't nearly as fundamentally sound as Tim. David also had a ty team around him for much of the time, though he had some decent guys as well (TC, Sean, Rod).
He had the misfortune of playing at a time where big centers dominated the game. These days he would be a terror. You could absolutely build a franchise around him if you could acquire him as a rookie next year. Imagine a rookie DRob with the Grizz or the Nets.
Better than building around a PG.
Hard to say if he would win a le, that depends on a lot more than one guy.

Regular season and overall as a player, Robinson is easily better than Dirk. But he never produced when it matters. Yes his defense was unstoppable and probably top 5 all-time but Dirk's offense can be simply unstoppable for stretches and leading that team to the chip last season put Dirk above Bibleman in my book
David Robinson was an amazing player and an even better person. The world is a better place because of The Admiral.
