I just thought Spurs had more class than to think about their Finals MVP when they haven't even gotten there yet.

    Voted for Timmy.

If the Spurs won the le and they had a dominating inside presence to balance their outside shooting it would be perfect.

Hypothetically, from the whole Spurs legacy perspective, it's best that Tim gets the award. With the 4th Finals MVP, Tim will definitely secure a position at All-time top 10 (To many people he is borderline top 10 right now), and may even be able to push for top 5.

While for Manu and Tony, Finals MVP or not, they'll be in Hall of Fame, but would not be seen as the all-time greatest players either way. But Tim being a top 5 will add great honor to the whole Spurs franchise.

But of course, as long as we can get the championship, it does not matter that Byars wins the Finals MVP.

I think Manu getting the award would be better legacy for the Spurs team, it will give true meaning to the "big three" as they would be the only "big three" with a finals MVP while playing together

I voted for TD just because i think it'd be awesome that he was the finals MVP in '99, and 13 years later he's still our foundation. Manu would be sick too, and Tony deserves it for the year he's had

Tony Parker. He's been the MVP all season, and he will have to play at an MVP level for the Spurs to win the le, so he's the obvious choice. Although I understand why Manu is the sentimental choice.

    Matt Bonner.

Isn't this thread a little early? This is going to jinx your team. I hope you form a lynch mob to cut this guy's fingers off so he can't post anymore.
Trolling is just saying terribly unfunny stuff. I hope you realize that. You personality is the equivalent of a saltine cracker sans salt.
Excuse me? No need to rude. I cam here to talk Spurs/Jazz basketball.
This thread is from December of last season, DPG pointed out that this in fact was a jinx thread.
    He's also trolling you.
    You fed him.
    Honest mistake.
    ummmm
    Jazz suck.

Manu.... I think if all the big 3 got one FMVP, then the dynasty would really solidify

Timmy. Anything that bolsters his legacy even more, I want that. He needs to be compared with Kareem when he retires.

I'd like Duncan to get another Finals MVP so that he can shut up the crazy Kobe fans for just one day - 5 rings with 4 Finals MVP & 2 reg season MVPs > 5 rings with 2 Finals MVP & 1 reg season MVP.

Getting a Finals MVP in 3 different decades would be awesome too - consistent excellence.

Although, Manu getting it would be nice. Then each of the big 3 will have 1.
And even though we all know Timmy is way better than shaq, he would have 4 to shaqs 3.

Ginobili. That way all of the Big Three would have at least one apiece.

Kind of like how I wished Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin could have won a Super Bowl MVP apiece each.

This is exactly the reason I want Tim to have the 4th MVP. Tony's MVP was well deserved, but Spurs fans all know Tim was the foundation and the best player in that 07 team. Bottom line, Tim was the primary reason we were able to play at the championship level.

While in 06, Wade (phantom calls regardless) was head and shoulder's above everybody else in Heat, even more so than Tim in 07 for Spurs. And I think Mourning was much more important than Shaq. However, people only remember that both Shaq and Tim have 4rings and 3 Finals MVP.

Maybe, but we're fans, not coaches or players. We can get as overconfident as we like.
