Those so-called "experts" are just ignorant and are letting their personal bias get in the way. Broussard has a major problem with them, because they're not in bed with the CAA, where he get's much of his information from. Adande has a major problem with them, because they've caused his Lakers more trouble than anyone for over a decade. Smith has a major problem with them, because he doesn't like the city. And in general, the national media has a major problem with them, because they're not a glamor franchise, nor a team with a star who's ass they're contractually obligated to kiss.
The phony reasoning for them being so skeptical about this team is laughable: "Remember what happened last season?". I seem to remember the Mavs winning the championship and the Lakers being swept, among other things. So by their logic, there's a high probability of those things happening again too. The truth is, they were just as skeptical throughout last regular season. I don't know why they're pretending a year later like they were on their bandwagon until the playoffs.
They refuse to acknowledge/aren't aware of the major differences between this year's team and last, because they see the same principles and many of the same names in general. Never mind that this team is healthier, surging, bigger, deeper, tougher both mentally and physically and just flat out better in general. And they just can't accept/process how a team without a player who's playing at a full fledged superstar level and who only has about four real recognizable names, can be this good. Because it goes against everything they think they know about the league.
