The call was . Rondo's postgame trip excuse was convincing. NBA can't afford to put down another star even for one gameafter Howard and Rose are out. That would pretty much eliminate the Celtics.
looked like he tripped on back heel of the ref, which made him backdoor the ref...looks like a scene from brazzers...
I'm pretty sure it went a lil smtnhg like this; he went over to the ref to say whayever he had to say, i don't think he wanted to give him a bump at that point..but he tripped on the back of his foot and as he was still barking at the ref and leaning over a bit, he thought 'well let's give him a lil chest bump now'. That's where the momentum carried over to the bump. Stupid.
If the NBA can suspend Stoudemire from game 5 of a 2-2 series that decides the championship on a technicality, they can do it for Rondo in game 2 of the first round too tbh.

I believe it's a foot injury that is keeping him out of the series.
Even without Rondo's hijinks, the Celtics were having difficulties with a Hawks team that is starting their THIRD-string center (who provides little to no offense).
If they lose Rondo for game 2, it's a near certainty that they go back to Boston down 0-2.
This guy clearly has a lot of respect for the officials.
He did trip, but the bump was well after he got his balance. He needs to realize with slo mo and cameras everywhere, it would be best to not lie about what happened.

There have been three instances this season where a player or coach has been suspended for a game for bumping a referee.
“We have a hard and fast rule,” Stern said. “Unless somebody trips you and sends you into him, nobody touches a referee. That’s the proposition.”

He in tripped, Stern is a got if he has to miss a playoff game because of that.
