Wow that's ed up. The government should go after them for fraud and hit them hard. That pisses me off to no end.

It seems like something that needs to be reformed.

I would wager it costs less than fraud in the DOD.

yeah this is pretty ed up. for those that cannot stand TV news:

This chart is pulled from the treasury:

Using Table 1, it can be seen that for the 2010 processing year more than three million returns were filed with ITINs. Of these, 2.3 million paid no federal income taxes and collected an aggregate of $4 billion4 from the Treasury in refundable tax credit money from the ACTC. Of those who did not file for the ACTC, most used the CTC to reduce or eliminate their tax liability and thereby recover all or part of any federal income tax money withheld by employers. Of all of the 2010 ITIN filers, fewer than one-quarter paid any federal income taxes, which amounted to about $0.87 billion in total. Thus, on a net basis, ITIN filers gained $3.13 billion ($4.0 billion minus $0.87 billion) from the IRS in the 2010 processing year. The sum of row 6 in Table 1 equals $7.37 billion, which represents an approximation of the total net outflow of IRS funds to ITIN filers for the 2005-2010 processing years.

Tax fraud is only bad when illegal immigrants do it?

What's the alternative? Not collect taxes from illegal immigrants?

No wonder ElNono is such a defender of the ITIN.
There's nothing wrong with the ITIN. The problem is with the IRS enforcing tax fraud.

After all, since these people are getting a check, the IRS has their full information. Name, address, etc.

You can run the same scam with a social security number, and I would be surprised if it isn't being run.

Apparently, the treasury is aware of it. Now it's up to lawmakers to do something about it.

I'm not saying it's not a fraud and something not to be outraged about.

What I'm saying is fraud is fraud, no matter who does it.

Ofcourse that's a sink that needs to be closed. No doubt about it. You can do that and still fetch taxes from illegal immigrants.

The ones that should be pissed off about it are the various Hispanic caucuses. ITIN is a very big step to normalizing things.

Contributing to the commonwealth is a cornerstone of acceptance. It was a big part of the justification of the Declaration of Independence after all but now whitey has a rallying cry.

Collect any tax from the employer that's taken out, but stop using ITIN's and don't let them get any money back. After all, they are "illegal."

So how much bigger yet do you want to grow the government?
After all, since these people are getting a check, the IRS has their full information. Name, address, etc.
Do you think in most cases, they actually reside where that have the address?
You can run the same scam with a social security number, and I would be surprised if it isn't being run.
So how about we make it harder to scam. Require legal residency for work, and ID that indicates citizenship for voting.

Yet you don't want any actions taken to make things like voter fraud harder. Why should we believe you don't want your extended family to be able to collect our tax dollars as well?

How stupid are you? Have you ever filed taxes?

You get a W2 from your employer and you file the form. This is exactly the same, but instead of using a SSN, you use a ITIN.

The problem here isn't with illegals filing tax returns, it's with claiming tax credits that don't belong to them.

So how much bigger yet do you want to grow the government?
Non sequitur... what does growing government has to do with combating fraud? Goddamn you're stupid.

Do you think in most cases, they actually reside where that have the address?
Ofcourse, re . How do you think they get their check mailed in otherwise?

So how about we make it harder to scam. Require legal residency for work, and ID that indicates citizenship for voting.
More non-sequitur. What does that have to do with tax fraud?
How massive is this vote fraud again?

You can't vote with an ITIN. One has to wonder if you ever registered to vote.

More talking out of your ass... par the course.

    We don't?

BTW, illegal immigration is a civil offense. Oh, and Barry has deported a record number of illegal immigrants. Are you voting for him?

I always stated I would welcome better enforcement. I don't like illegals any more than you do.

How can you incorrectly give him credit, when the additional laws were put in place during the last administration?
