This video is crazy![]()
her and her constant race card-playing self.
that volleyball in highschool playing, broad shoulder having, barritone voice,
An argument can be made for both.
Her point has validation, the Bulls did have 98 player games missed, and they did lock up number 1 seed in all of NBA, because of the win against SA, in SA I might add.
Her argument that the Spurs won because of their deep bench actually gives Pop more credit, because he obviously got a lot out of some players that had difficulties prior to this year(Green, Splitter), which is because of good coaching. Developing a deep bench and instilling confidence in the bench are tributes of a good coach.
I would not have argued had Pop came in second in COY this year, as both candidates were well deserving.
You can't have it both ways sports media.
You can't say the spurs are past their prime and no longer contenders to begin the season,
and then say Pop does not deserve COY for getting this team to the best record in the NBA with one all-star, two aged stars and a basket full of 2nd tier talent because he has the "deepest team in the league," and pop "just did his job." As if this team does this well with just any competent coach.
, Kobe-Shaq did not reach their potential until Phil came along. The right coach makes a huge difference.
If only she could trade in her looks for brains.
a) Apparently she can't actually speak a full sentence because they had to edit phrases together on the video.
b) ummm... what? A whole bunch of Spurs players are going really well, new players and young players have fit right in and contributed, Parker has stepped up his game to a MVP-consideration level, and oh the coach had nothing to do with it? Yet Thibodeau gets all the credit for tying the Spurs record, but in the crap-laden East conference?
c) ummm... Ginobili played only 34 out of 66 regular season games. Rose played in 39. Yet Thibodeau gets all the credit for working around major star outages, and Popovich was "just doing his job" ????
d) Popovich was the OVERWHELMING choice of the COY voters. He received 77 out of 119 first place votes. Thibodeau got 27. (Apparently 15 idiots voted for somebody else.) So they are all stupid?
e) "Popovich is the best coach in the NBA" but "this year he's not" ??? whaaa???
Didn't watch...I already know how stupid she is. No need to waste several minutes of my day validating that knowledge.
she's black....
Oh Jesus...
If the above occurred she would be both ugly and mentally re ed.
... It has occurred.
her. There's a reason the Spurs are The healthiest they've been going into the playoffs in several years... Time management. I'm not saying Pop was hands down COY, but wtf?! The Spurs had the best record while missing their best player most of the season and severely cutting back the other two's minutes. , sometimes Pop even looked like he was forfeiting games by resting all 3, and we still pull out a win.
Sounds like she's a regular poster on Spurs Talk.![]()
'Cuz San Antonio isnt black enough for her!
Hill has been criticized for taking unpopular or extreme stances, leading many to accuse her of inflating her ESPN.com page hits by creating controversy. She has also been accused of racism and being obsessed with race.
She should tell that to Pop in person.
I didn't watch the video because she is just awful, but I don't think I've ever read comments on the ESPN boards that were so one-sided. I don't know if the people agree that Pop should be COY or the Jamele Hill hate is that strong. Either way, Jamele Hill and Israel Gutierrez.
If she was saying good things about the Spurs, suddenly Spurs fans would love her.
Don't get trolled so easily.
Her own argument is flawed if going by extraordinary measure Vogel deserves it more than thibbs. She also uses Stephen Jackson and Boris Diaw as reasons for Pop not winning and they didn't play for the spurs for over half a season.
What about T.J. Ford who only played in 14 games and RJ who only played in 41. I'd say Pop had to do a lot of lineup juggling and experimentation to get to the best record in the league with his regular season starting SF and his veteran backup PG missing huge chunks of the season.
Add in the almost seamless incorporation of Mills, Jackson and Diaw in only 20 games through today.
She looked nervous on the tape. Maybe she knew she'd get a ration of for her opinion.
I have been the BIGGEST Pop hater here so IMO;
Pop deserves this award. I am eating right now.
Having said that, again IMO;
The job is only halfway done and I am praying to have to eat more when and if the Spurs win the le. If the Spurs do not then this means absolutely nothing.
You can't have it both ways. If you are good enough to be Coach of the year then you should win the le. If you fail to win the le with all the "embarrassment of riches" then you failed.
If you win the le then you are absolutely deserving of any and all accolades.
Please Pop, finish the job.
I disagree with her across the board.
She mentions Rose missing games, but how many games did Manu miss? He's arguably the Spurs best player when healthy and in form.
Also, Pop gets the most out of everyone on the team. This wasn't a one man team for sure, but alot of it has to do with Pop's coaching and getting the players to execute consistently on a daily basis.
Plus, let's not act like the Bulls are a one man show. They're a very deep team.
Sorry, but she's way off. Pops did a uva job and deserved the coach of the year.
Meh. After hearing Pop's press conference, he'd probably agree with her.
The next time I give a about what some chick not named kori says about sports will be the first.
