T-Mac
Both same age.. who would you take.
T-Mac
32.1 PPG
6.5 RPG
5.5 APG
.564% TS
PER 30.3
Durant
28.0 PPG
8.0 RPG
3.5 APG
610% TS
PER 26.2
tbh i probly should have put 2002 since this 2003 T-Mac season could probably be compared to prime Jordan![]()
T-Mac was just an insane scorer, couldn't play a lick of defense at any point in his career
Good comparison
T-Mac was a better scorer then than Durant is now, that could change one day
McGrady by a bit..
They're both poor defensive players, so that's a wash..
Durant is a better rebounder, McGrady is a better playmaker..
They're about equal in clutch performance..
Compared to the respective win totals of their teams, McGrady was slightly more valuable to his team(overall, McGrady obviously meant more, due to having one of the tiest supporting casts in playoff history)..
Put 2003 T-Mac on 2012 Thunder team and you got a championship. Putting 2012 Durant to work in a Stridex science center and you got the cure for acne.
Acne, since he has accomplished more in his career already.
Man, T-Mac looked like he was on track to be a lockdown defender in his last year in TO.
TMac in 2003 > Kobe in any year > Durant ever
Mac could play elite defense if he wanted to. He shut down Dirk in that '05 playoff series with his length. Also an incredible athlete with the quickest first step in the world and has the handles of a PG.
McGrady is overrated as . Lots of star players have had supporting casts and still managed to win a playoff series or two.
When Juwan Howard is your 2nd best player, you're might not make the playoffs even with Michael Jordan.
I don't know, Durant seems like the most efficient/better scorer and McGrady seems to be the better playmaker although both of these thougths could be influenced by the fact that McGrady had the ball in his hands a lot more and took more responsabilties, maybe if they switch places Tracy's shooting % goes up and Durant's assists number too.
Gun to my head, I pick Durant. Taller, better rebounder and shooter.
Lol thread
When T-Mac was on fire in his prime, he was a real force. Durant hasn't reached that high of a ceiling... not yet at least.
the prime tmac would pwn his ass. t-mac is a more complete player and is twice a playmaker durant is, plus tmac never got that many bull calls durant gets.
It's not like McGrady was losing to the 86 Celtics every year. The teams he lost to are the Knicks, the Bucks, a 44 win Hornets team, the pre-Rasheed Pistons, Dallas (only really good team he has ever faced), and a couple of so-so Jazz teams. Surely an elite player should have been able to raise his game enough to beat one of those teams.
Greatness is not measured by the regular season. McGrady was a huge fail in the playoffs.
/End
29, 7, 6 for playoff career with Yao's knees as your 2nd best player
/end
tmac never had no legit support which turned out to be costly time after time in the playoffs, no surprise he never won a series in the playoffs when the BEST player he ever played with was that 7'6 piece of . aint a superstar yet when he was playing on the same team with VC in toronto so those years don't count
Durant ainec
Tracy McGrady was a bad mother er. <---------period
