This moves into my #1 superhero movie spot. Better than all the solo pictures for sure although I still love Iron Man.

My only complaint is that the costumes still look like something from Party City. I also ignored the fact that the US military was nowhere to be found. I guess the assumption is that Shield called them off.

    Spoilers:

Thor was the strongest Avenger in the movie, what short end of the stick?

When Captain America was exhausted, Thor was flipping cars.

When Hulk was getting gunned down Thor was creating a lightning storm wiping out a brigade. Not to mention Thor matched Hulk in strength.

When it was all over Thor was the one that took back the tesaract and Loki himself.

Based off the movie alone the order of importance is Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and somewhat Black Widow for what she did in the end. The rest were expendable.

I mean what can a 'hero' with no superpowers really do against flying spaceships?

That game was too hard and Carnage sucks. After the way Venom was bungled, I doubt we'll see another symbiotic in the near future.
That's why they discontinued the old Spider-Man series. Spider-Man 3 was butchered and Venom was absolutely atrocious, worst actor possible to play Venom. Tayler Lautner would have been a more imposing Venom.

Carnage is straight up beast. My favorite villain from Spider-Man. The actors play such a huge role in the character (shocking right?) even if the character is predetermined like in comic book movies if you have some dude that looks like a back street boy it just won't work.

I think Venom could work, but I don't like all the other symbiotes.

Spider-Man 3 was unintentionally hilarious the entire way through, even without all the parts that were meant to be funny.

I thought they got all the parts just right. Which is something of a miracle if you think about it.

When you think about the gamble that was made building to this movie you have to think that its been extremely well executed by Marvel Studios. The only real dud of a movie - and I still thought it was good - was The Incredible Hulk.

I'm pretty amazed they pulled it off at all. The fact the made it this good is just ridiculous.

For some reason Hulk never found his actor. In the past decade 3 actors attempted to play that role. All of them being very credible, none of them leaving that much of an impression.

Mark Ruffalo was fine, he wasn't impressive, but he wasn't underwhelming either.

Part of the reason I like Spider-Man more (1 and 2) as well as Batman (especially Begins) was the drama. The Avengers was an exciting and entertaining movie, but it was shallow, it didn't draw you in emotionally like the darker comic movies.

I wasn't left thinking after the movie, only revising the action scenes and that's fine - but I prefer substance.

Did Spiderman really have much drama though? Obviously TDK and BB had a lot of it. I guess Spiderman 2 really did have a decent amount of drama for a comic book movie but 1 and 3 definitely didn't have all that much.

Don't know what films you were watching, but the Spiderman films weren't really dark.

I do agree wiith you that Avengers was a "shallow" popcorn type movie. I think thats fine though. Especially when you execute it so damn well.

Not to sound too much like Lefty, but in this regard TDKR has such a higher ceiling than the Avengers.

Just got back from this. Funniest scene in the film, tbh.

Great overall movie, perfectly executed as Manny said.

The hulk's problem wasn't the actor it was the hulk himself. This is the first movie where he wasn't just a brainless monster but a force of nature. In the other movies he couldn't kill the soldiers cause they were human. In this movie he was finally just pure destruction.

Well first of all, all the previous Spiderman movies sucked. Lets get that straight.

Secondly, Avengers isn't comparable to Nolan's Batman trilogy. Marvel chose not to have the movie take itself that seriously. It won't be as good as Nolan's Batman or Watchmen... but that wasn't the goal, so lets not get ahead of ourselves. We may as well be comparing Home Alone with Inception if we don't keep in mind the integrity of the movie.

I thought the first two Spiderman films were pretty good, and for the most part 3 really wasn't as bad as people make it out.

Yeah I never beat it. It made me buy Green Jelly's album 333, though

carnage is awesome though. He's the Patrick Bateman of spider man universe
That game was too hard and Carnage sucks. .
No offense but I caught on, and prolly beat it like at least 30 times.

Spiderman X-men: Arcade's Revenge for SNES particularly. Now that's a different story.

I can let the first two go.... but c'mon mang.... don't make excuses for the third Spider-man. The casting was horrid, the actors acted terrible, the writing was so bad it came off comical, we were all embarrassed to be in the theater when Toby went emo, and they completely ruined Venom. It was a kick in the balls to movie goers and comic fans alike.

I think the new reboot looks way better tbh. Parker actually looks like himself and I'm happy they got rid of the organic web bs.

Things that made Spider-Man 3 bad:
    - Franco's acting. He wasn't even trying.
    - Maguire's acting. Those faces he made were unintentionally hilarious.
    - The three villains. Completely unnecessary and the only one who was done half decently was Sandman.
    - The way Venom was bungled. Wrong actor and poorly utilized. Topher's face appearing evey time Venom spoke was stupid.
    - That pointless shot of Spider-Man in front of the American flag towards the end. What the was the point of that?
    - The British reporter. She was unintentionally hilarious.

There's more, but I don't want to get into it.

    There hasn't been a Spider-Man movie since 2002, I don't know what you're talking about.
