I know a lot of people are sick of gnsf posters starting any type of thread and for the life of me I agree in someways. Here's is my solution for everyone to be somewhat happy. Ask Kori to change in vbulletin when newbies can start threads. Set a number or limit of posts first before they can start threads. Also a couple moderators would help to close nonsense threads....lol yes like this one!

Just my 2 cents. Oh also Kori can you add "like buttons" and the ability to flag posts or posters?

this boards are formatted. You acquire them and install them in you server, there's not much more that you can do other that we already see. Unless you're a php devoleper and know some Html which I guess Kori does not. So is not possible to add like buttons or i think limitate starting threads to newbies.

Spurstalk goes in cycles. The system has self regulated well enough. The rules and mods are few, that's why most of us came and stick around. We'd rather deal with the occasional overzealous noob than any kind of redtape, and for the most part that seems to have been the owners take on the situation as well. Plenty of other places the quick trigger response would be to ban the guy starting multiple threads or some of the people who on them. Around here new person is expected to adapt and should they do so they'll eventually find themselves welcomed. Up your game, thicken your skin, or find a kinder gentler forum to post on. Such has it been. So should it be always.

Why would we need a report button? You're gonna report someone for being a big meanie?

Also, having too many mods on a board is not good because they feel too en led and go power hungry on you.

Like Spurs in exile said, this place self regulates just fine. Most of us here know what its tolerable and what's not so you dont see alot of people stepping over the line.

How about you just not start a ing thread unless you have something good to say? "I know you hate it when I do X but I'm going to do X anyway" is the ultimate sign of a terrible person.

There is a special place in for GNSF.

    sfie with the goods.

Besides, some of the biggest stories and breaking reports have come from GNSFs or no0bs. To deny the forum of that would be a shame.

If we have to sift through the nonsense for an occasional gem, so be it. Thus is life.

It's called equality. Freedom of Speech. GNSF are the same as a RNSF. Anyone can start a thread. This is just a message board gee dont take the GNSF so seriously just sweep it under the rug. This is the internet, spurs talk doesn't discriminate between red and black and gray. Whether we have 1 post or 1,000,000 posts, anyone is, and should always be able to start a thread.

I totally agree with this. I only started this thread because there's been a lot of whiners over gnsfs starting threads. I just wanted to see if a solution would help but It's all good with me.

And I meant a couple of moderators meaning 2 not a few or more meaning 3 or more to whoever got butthurt over that.

First of all, I know a lot of HTML and php ... timvp knows even more than me and can build sites from scratch. However, you don't need to know much of any of that to change the site. vBulletin software is pretty easy to customize. You can change just about anything you want on vBulletin. You can change it so that a person has to have X amount of posts before they can start a thread, add like buttons, add report buttons, etc. It's simple.

    That all being said...

Some "newbies" are far better posters than some of the people here with 10,000+ posts. So limiting people because they are new isn't reasonable.

Secondly, if people stopped complaining about gnsf or just didn't post in their dumb threads, then the threads would quickly fall off the front page and there would be nothing to complain about.

If there was a like button I would like this. Great points, it just becomes annoying at times, I know HTML CSS wordpress and vbulletin and other software websites so it would be cool to e this site up a bit.

If you have something interesting to say, enough people will notice. Some people seem to think the main forum is a thread and post every thought as a new thread even if there are active threads already pertaining to the same thought.

    becoming a non-GNSF

Lesson 1: If you have to start a post with an apology in the thread le for posting it, you probably shouldnt post it.

Those who constantly about "gnsf" threads are the same people posting in them. The fact is, people crave something to about. your lame unoriginal excuse for a thread. Threads like this don't change the cycle, they define it.
