i like how the choices are essentially like the follows:

stab yourself in the left leg

    or

stab yourself in the right leg.

no matter which you pick, you are gonna get stabbed and its gonna hurt like a mofo.
    false dilemma.

voting for Gary Johnson and Jim Gray won't hurt me at all in November, and probably not anytime afterward, either.

No canceling a high school play because you appointed yourself the moral 'decider' does.
close, but your facts are a little off

The play has been a source of controversy since its 1998 off-Broadway premiere at the Manhattan Theatre Club. Fun fact: The cast featured Dexter’s Michael C. Hall and starred Josh Lucas in a breakout role as gay Judas (eight years later Lucas portrayed iconic Texas Western basketball coach Don Haskins in Glory Road). The Catholic League and others condemned and intensely protested that performance, calling it blasphemous. They were one-upped by the response to the 2000 premiere in London: a fatwa against McNally from the Shariah court of the U.K. The Stephenville premiere didn’t reach that extreme, but it was no exception. On the eve of Tarleton (State University)’s first and only planned performance of the infamous “gay Jesus play,” as the university braced for unprecedented protests amid a media firestorm that extended far beyond Texas, an unexpected condemnation of the play was blasted across the state by, of all people, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.

“Every citizen is en led to the freedom of speech,” Dewhurst said in a statement on Friday, the day before the scheduled performance, “but no one should have the right to use government funds or ins utions to portray acts that are morally reprehensible to the majority of Americans.” Hours later, the performance was canceled by the professor of the course, Mark Holtorf, citing security concerns and "the need to maintain an orderly academic environment." There is no plan to reschedule it. Otte will be graded based on his final tech rehearsal.

I'm not registered with any party, nor do I want to be, so I can't vote in primaries... but if I were, I'd vote for Dewhurst for one simple reason: it's the only way to get him out of the Lt. Gov and potential Gov seat down the road.

At least in the US Senate there will be 99 other Senators to mitigate his bull . As Lt. Gov he is Chief Executive Asshole

David Dewhurst signed Rick Perry's budget pledge
    By
    Todd J. Gillman/Reporter

    [email protected] | Bio

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst has signed Gov. Rick Perry's no-tax, lower-spending pledge, it turns out.
Dewhurst's official office issued a statement about this time yesterday indicating that he supports the principles, while sidestepping the governor's call for state lawmakers to formally abide by its details. Turns out that a bit later yesterday, Dewhurst tweeted from his "personal" Twitter account: "Proud to support Governor Perry by signing the Texas Budget Compact." And his U.S. Senate campaign posted a similar note on its Facebook page.

    The Dewhurst disaster

“Massive cuts to education this year, followed by systematic cuts planned for next year, will create a “Double Robin Hood” scenario for many public schools,” Sadler said. “I call this ‘The Dewhurst Disaster.

    <<snip>>

“During the last legislative session, it is now obvious that both Governor Rick Perry and Lt. Gov. Dewhurst were interested only in their selfish desire to run for higher office and were too afraid of the right-wing extremists to tackle the hard issues of our state created by their mismanagement,” Sadler said. “I can certainly understand why both of these men would try to leave the State before Texans learn of the disaster they have created.”

    <<snip>>

“In the past few weeks Texans from across the political spectrum have demanded that the Governor call a Special Session of the Legislature to solve our state’s school funding crisis,” said Sadler. “From conservative Republican State Senator Steve Ogden to the Texas State Teachers’ Association, responsible Texans are demanding that our leaders step up, forget about politics, and show some real leadership for our schools and our school children. It’s time David Dewhurst woke up and paid attention.”

    Anyone remember this?

AUSTIN – State leaders vowed Thursday to go to court if Congress gives final approval to a bill that would force Texas to preserve current education spending levels through 2013 to qualify for additional federal aid.

Gov. Rick Perry and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst called the requirement – contained in a $26 billion job protection bill passed by the U.S. Senate on Thursday – an uncons utional intrusion into state affairs that could cost Texas schools more than $820 million. The House is expected to take final action on the measure next week.

"We're going to file suit, and I would be delighted to be a named plaintiff," Dewhurst said. He called on the House members from Texas to get the provision removed.

Dewhurst said a lawsuit would be based on the fact that the restrictive language on education spending applies only to Texas.

Perry complained of federal intrusion into state authority and said that under the state Cons ution, officials can't guarantee future spending

He's an unabashed shill for whoever donates the most money. For all the talk of free-market conservationism, he's happy to abandon those free-market principles when the free-market doesn't work in favor of his preferred donors. He's pay-for-play politics at its finest.

I have no idea of its true, but one of the attack ads against him says that he once sued a client for non-payment of a $250,000 legal bill (he's an attorney) when he was a sitting senator and he said that the services rendered included getting a law changed. Or was that Wentworth...I'm getting confused with all of these attack ads.

    That's Wentworth.

I won't get into details on Dewhurst, but I speak from personal experience. Up to each individual reader to decide if I'm credible or not.

I don't know too much about either of them but if I voted in primaries I'd have to go with Cruz just because Dewhurst seems like a sleazebag. I read he attacked Cruz for recieving a donation from a gay man and then I heard this stupid attack on the radio yesterday

    Cruz is a secret chinaman
