I would be worried about anyone who was poking and prodding under my skin. I would want to know he was someone who didn't just pass.
I made that statement to point out the harm affirmative action does, by creating such uncertainty of someone actual ability.
If I had a choice for some elective surgery, I would be checking on any surgeons qualifications to the level I could, regardless of color. Especially if it was something not routine.

That is a distinct possibility, and it would depend on his/her professional reputation since entering practice.
I certainly wouldn't dismiss him/her out of hand based solely on how they came to matriculate through their program or were appointed to their position. If they are a board certified surgeon with a demonstrated history of competence in performing the procedure I am undergoing, it's all good. They could have been selected from a bar in Mogadishu for all I care.
