And that's a backup PG who is actually a PG. They have three solid SG's in Green, Ginobili, and Neal, but they are all true SG's. Pop playing Neal and Ginobili together isn't working because they are both better at the wing rather than bringing the ball up. I'm not sure that one has to go, but Ginobili or Neal shouldn't be playing PG. I guess Mills isn't the answer, but that is a need this off-season. I still think they can win the championship without a backup PG, but if they did have a true backup PG, their chances would be far better.

9 wins and one trophy are all that are missing!

I've been thinking about it, not sure what the best option but I feel like Boris really helped the second unit in game 2, could bail out Manu and Neal easily when they were pressured.

Bottom line, Boris may be the best back up PG. But you can't take him off the starting unit, it just works too well as it is.

Patty Mills could probably do a better job than Neal.

If our worst problem for the balance of the playoffs is still that the team is only 9 deep... we don't have a problem.

Manu can take the backup point slot and we can play Leonard and Green more minutes with the second unit if this turns into an actual issue.

The only thing SA is missing for a le is being in a large market, new market, or having overhyped superstars on their team. Since then we'd get ref assistance like the Thunder, Lakers, and Heat do.

Being a small market, low ratings team with no superstars and already having won 4 les is 3 strikes against us. So I only worry about team health and the league game fixing at this point ('cause let's be real, they've fixed at least 3 games we've been involved in against LA in the last decade, and fixed other games involving LA in the playoffs too like Lakers/Kings game 6).

I think if worse comes to worse, Pop can devise a way of bring up the ball with KL or DG helping. Both have decent handles with the ball. Also, Patty Mills and James Anderson can be inserted to help. We all know both of them can score.

Even the best point guards sometimes get stripped. The problem is Neal doesn't have confidence in his ball handling. At worse he has a Beno Udrih moment where he gives up the ball in a crucial Finals game.

By the end of the 2005 playoffs, Beno was out of the rotation for more or less the same reasons Neal is having problems.

If we could replace blair with a 7 footer like aaron gray and anderson with a true point like ford. Dang, if ford wasn't injured and if we traded blair and anderson for a center, that's a lock.
