Israel Gutierrez has already owned up to his boneheaded series predictions and has given the Spurs props for about a week now. He's taken a step back from his amateurish "superstars win championships" take.
ESPN has given the Spurs their due lately. Partly because of the teams left, they are too hard to ignore, and because they've dominated their opponents. They still aren't going to be the main talking point until they are the only team left because they aren't the most marketable team. Still those who rely primarily on stats and have a shred of basketball a en recognize that the Spurs are on another level from everyone else at the moment.

That being said, Israel hasn't done to back down from his "Anyone but San Antonio" comments as far as who will win it all this year. He has said that the Spurs are a good team, but still refuses to acknowledge their legitimacy as a contender.

The ESPN (aka ABC panel), just gave the Spurs a ton of love on pregame. Hopefully the few spurs fans that complain alot about espn, can stop now...flying under the radar is actually a good thing. less pressure, less BS....

Take a look at the guy's twitter feed. Ya, hes really giving the Spurs props, even after coming back from 24 down and still pulling out a double digit lead.

Didn't ESPN decide not to renew him for being too much of a homer?

"How about San Antonio? 17 straight wins."

"If it's a Miami or Lakers team on a string like San Antonio is doing, people would be talking about it like it's the greatest thing. It's just..it's amazing how they still go under the radar despite their excellence."

ESPN not getting that they're just as guilty as everyone else.

Yeah..I know it's not hip to talk about the Spurs and all that...but don't call everyone else out for not doing it when you yourself are doing the same damn thing.
They're not as guilty as everyone else, they're MORE guilty than everyone else. NBAtv and TNT at least have been somewhat acknowledging San Antonio despite the occaisional "yeah well what happened last year?" bag comment that adds nothing to the conversation.

ESPN on the other hand has been going so far as to speed through every Spurs' highlight regardless of anything interesting that happened in the game. , I've even multiple times seen them show more highlights of the LOSING TEAM that the Spurs just beat. . . They do that at least half the time. Last time they played and blew out the Thunder, they showed Thunder highlights for 80% of the clip. They showed like one Spurs basket then "oh fast forward to the third! Thunder go on a run~", then they showed every basket they made during that heavily ref-assisted run that they had, then they showed the box score at the end.

ESPN is the main source that has been overlooking and counting out SA all year. Not just their "sports personalities", but even in the showing of their highlights.
