I know I've become spoiled when that felt like an ugly win even though the Spurs shot 53% from the field. For a normal team, that would have been a gritty, gutty playoff victory. For these Spurs, I'm stuck thinking of ways how this could have been another blowout.

@ timvp for not immediately being happy with a playoff win

Not happy with a win unless it's 10 points or more.

This was the perfect game to test the spurs. Closeout. Dogfight. Win.

We're definitely tested now. Coming back from a large deficit and winning a close game.

Rest up, boys! And be ready for OKC. Or Lakers.

Agreed, Timvp...Matter of fact, the wins people call "ugly" are how we won a lot of our les. I LOVE "ugly" wins.

Heh... people complaining that the Spurs aren't being challenged, and then complaining when they are challenged. By the time you get to the second round, the other team is going to be pretty damned good - especially in the Western conference. This is what a close-out game on the road is supposed to look like. And that was how a championship team deals with it.

A 65-64 win with tons of turnovers and missed FTs is still prettier than a 140-139 triple overtime loss with no turnovers and missed FTs.

I have no nails left, so I can't totally agree. I'd amend your statement to say that good grind it out wins are fun to watch in retrospect.

One of my all time favorite games is 2005 Finals Game 5 - but not as I was watching it. I had to leave the room more than once because I couldn't stand it.

Once that relief sets in and the knowledge they won settles in, then it's fun or memorable.

they didn't have a turnover in the 2nd half until the cp3 turnover with 10 seconds left. That's a perfect game for them we're supposed to lose, and we won. Love it.

Alright, I'll stand corrected on that. I was pacing the room left and right, cursing at almost every play.

Other than the amount of stupid turnovers this was a great win. This game was a lot more physical than the last 3 and the refs were letting guys play. Spurs battled and pulled out a close win by playing defense. Great game.

That's great news for me since I'll be out of town Thursday-Monday. I can at least make it back to go to game 2.
