lol didnt think about that... badass
Didn't want to just hid this in an already started thread, and not sure if this has been covered- however, if San Antonio goes on to win the le this season, Tim Duncan will become the first player to win a championship in three different decades in all 3 major sports!
Wouldn't this put his name above Kobe and Shaq's and put him right there with Jordan, Bird and Magic?

Wow, that's awesome. Good call.
Sorry man, don't mean to rain on your parade, but I thought the same thing earlier this season and looked it up....
John Salley F/C
Detroit Pistons (1989, 1990)
Chicago Bulls (1996)
Los Angeles Lakers (2000)
Granted, I still think Timmy deserves all the credit in the world for being the best player on his teams, not some scrub like Sally who road the pine for 2 of those championships.
Yeah, I guess i could say as a marquee player! Maybe Timmy could be the first to win NBA Finals MVP's in 3 decades?
Yogi Berra and his rings from 1947, 1949, 1950-53, 1956, 1958, and 1961-62 say hi.
So do Joe DiMaggio (30's, 40's, 50's) and Babe Ruth (10's, 20's, and 30's) to just name a few.
or at least be the first to be a starter on championship teams n 3 diff. decades.
No one will ever come close to Jordan...not even sure why you'd even think about saying that.
