We should of won the game but nothing in game 1 stands out to the thunder players showing they can't win the series.

    It's idiotic to think otherwise

They had us and they blew it.

It is better to ask how much this shakes a young team up.

Ginobili had an outstanding game. Jackson was very good on D. Who else was really exceptional?

I am really interested to see how they handle this. There were some glum faces. They have shown to be very thick-skinned, but this was very different. The Spurs can make a whole bunch more adjustments than OKC imo.

I really think they wore down. They really went into a gigantic mental funk in the 4th. Mental and physical breakdown, lets see if they learn. Or mabye we gift them with huge errors of our own like the first half. We were not ready for their long quick D.

Imo this was a great way for us to win a game.

Yep, that's pretty much how I want the Thunder and their fans feeling. Denial is the first step.

I'm sure thunder players could really care less what fans of the spurs think just a guess though...

I wonder how sixers felt after blowing game 1 to Boston... Clearly not much

It won't matter in game 2 here either... It never does. It doesn't have any bareing on the next game on any series.

I'd say the fact they can't defend worth a crap in crunch time and Westbrook being a poor decision maker would be but hey,

    Why mix in generalities...

The team that lost the series?

Call up the golf course and ask, they've got plenty of time.

This makes an already difficult task a little more difficult, but OKC didn't get this far by being a team that gets easily discouraged and rolls over. One thing you can say about Brooks is he has always seemed to be able to get his guys focused on the game at hand and not dwelling on what did or didn't happen in the last game, other than to use that game as a learning tool.

    We are not Boston.

And I dont think you are as bad as the 8th seeded, just glad to be here 76ers.

We served you a game on a platter and you would not eat. Anytime a team blows a game it has an effect. You dont think Brooks is gonna talk about that 4th quarter to his team because it really has no bearing on the 2nd game? Nothing to be learned... God I hope so.

For Manu, this is the norm. The slump was not the norm. Even if he doesnt have the same game and OKC clamps down, someone else can pick up the slack. The point is that when push comes to shove the Spurs responded.

If we couldn't defend in crutch time we wouldn't of been so good in close games. Westbrook sucked and as a team made bad decisions. That is not the norm

A better comparison would be Dallas after Game 1 with y'all.

Not comparing the teams but the situations.

Philly threw away game 1 which could of had them discouraged but it didn't and they won game 2

Indy blew Miami out in game 3 , had no affect in game 4

Spurs may well win game 2 but how thunder lost game 1 won't play a factor in the mindset of the players in game 2

I suspect everyone on both teams goes into Game 2 with exactly the same mentality as they went into Game 1 with. If the Thunder win Tuesday, then nothing that happened last night matters going forward.

I'm sure they're far too busy not being concerned. Their game plan to have everything go right for them and still not win is going swimmingly!

Encouragement? Nah. But I don't think they are as terrified as many Spurs fans would like to think. I think Shaq had a point last night. From Spurs fan perspective - and from some outside perspectives too, apparently - the Thunder should be worried because of what has been pointed out: they had a lead, they played great defense, the Spurs played badly and then OKC gave it up in the fourth. What can they really do differently that doesn't come down to luck? Some more shots will go in (or not) but the Spurs will probably play better as well - I don't see a big change that OKC can make to defeat the Spurs.

But from OKC's perspective, I wouldn't be all that worried. Durant is unlikely to have another such bad fourth quarter, and there is reason to think Westbrook and Harden will bounce back with better games. Perkins can try to limit their fouls and they seemed to have success with disrupting the Spurs passing lanes and interfering with their ball movement. So I think Shaq was right to say that they are probably talking about how they had some poor play that they can bounce back from and they had success for three quarters, and , how they didn't expect to take that game anyway - all they have to do to get HCA is win the next one for a split and then they are golden.

I don't agree with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't completely cowed by that game. There are plenty of things they can spin positively for themselves if they want to - the problem is that I don't think it matters. I don't think SA plays that poorly again, period.
That is true, but if you call IN all the easy shots missed by both teams, and i mean those the Spurs and OKC missed, the spurs win by 10, because OKC did miss a coulple maybe 3 or 4 very easy shots, but the Spurs missed like 10 of those.

a 9 pt lead does not mean Thunder should have won the game...a 9 pt lead is nothing. It was not like they blew a 20 pt lead. Thunder went through a small dry spell. As well did the Spurs. Both teams played poorly. It all evened out.

Manu will dominate the whole series. This game is not a one time wonder.
