Why do the Spurs' struggle against the physical defense and overall game of the Eastern Conference elite, tbh?..

The 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 Spurs record vs. Boston/Chicago/Miami is just 3-6, with one of the 3 wins coming by 1-point against the Celtics, after Pierce missed the buzzer-beater..

Why do the dominant Spurs struggle against the elite teams of the East?..serious discussion, tbh..

This season's Spurs is 1-2 against those East teams, both losses coming without GNob... last season is well known: they trotted out RJ and Bonner substantial minutes...

The good sign for the Spurs is that they were 5-2 against the top 5 defensive teams in the league (6-2 if you count Atlanta, #6 top defensive team), all of which were east teams... and on top of that, they've upgraded on the toughness department with Jax + Diaw over RJ + Bonner...

APples and oranges to compare last year and this year imo.

The offense is much more diverse.

serious discussion, why is Miami only 18-15 on the road in an Eastern Conference that features the likes of Detroit, Washington, NJ, Toronto, Cleveland and Charlotte, tbh?

Simple. All of those games minus the Boston one this year had Jefferson on the roster and Bonner/Blair playing significant minutes.

The Spurs are much tougher now, IMO.

I guess it's safe to assume at this point that Harlem has made his choice.

This. I'm quite annoyed on how he cheers for the Spurs and Heat together. Pick your poison, HH. Nothing personal, just business.

If the Spurs get out of the west, I don't think they can defeat the Heat TBH

o, buddy boy. Jones here. I guess you're on your knees right about now. Begging for your life. Pathetic. You don't feel so y now do ya Harlem? You know what the tragedy here is? We could have been friends. But you wouldn't go through proper channels. You went over my head. That hurt.. But life goes on, it's an old story, the fight for love and glory, huh Harlem? It helps if you think of it as a game. Every game has a winner and a loser..

    I'm cashing you out, Harlem.

Miami beat us down pre Jackson and Diaw. And now they have no Bosh. A two man team cannot beat the Spurs.

Weirdest game of the season. LeBron made everything he looked at, including like 7 threes. Miller was being a that game too.

    Pretty simple:

-BOS/MIA/CHI are all great rotating teams that can defend the perimeter at an elite level. When guys like RJ & Bonner are getting heavy mins and only offer a single skillset (3pt shooting), Spurs become an easy team to defend as soon as those losers are eliminated.

-Duncan not being able to dominate the last couple of seasons also contributes.

-Spurs not having the defensive personnel to guard LeBron/Wade/Pierce/Allen/Deng

RJs gone, Bonner's role is limited, better version of Duncan, and better wing defenders improves the Spurs' chances. I think that a healthy Heat team w/Bosh is still the toughest matchup for the 2012 Spurs but they're more equipped to handle Miami than before, tbh.
