I'm in a hotel room in Denver, I screamed when Duncan facialed Ibaka. I got a call from downstairs "everything ok?" I told them I was watching the game.
Send them a gif of the duncan facial. That should stop the calls

Really, the Spurs gave up a lot of rebounds and the lead could be bigger. However, the Thunder also got a lot of shots to go that were "tough" shots. Aside from a few corner threes, the Spurs really did not give an inch on defense.

The offense that first half flowed extremely well and they got most of the attention but really the Spurs D was DAMN good.

that was a dirty play for sure. havent heard a mention of it since though
It was not a foul, it was not a dirty play. It was an aggressive block, very good defensive recovery and block. Don't be a pussy because a dear Spur was on the receiving end. Gotta recognize good plays from other teams, it happens.

Deja Vu from rounds 1 and 2:

Re: Oklahoma City Thunder vs San Antonio Spurs
by Yilun on Tue May 29, 2012 9:08 pm

This is quickly turning into a clinic.

What astounds me is the ease with which Spurs are scoring. Crisp, clean, precise passing and easy, open buckets compared to OKC, who are pounding the ball, dribble dribble dribbe then a long jumpshot -> brick. The more OKC tries to play 1-on-1 basketball, the more Spurs pass and play team-ball.

The gap in talent is pretty apparent now. I'm sorry, but I don't think it's OKC's time yet this year. They need to take a good look at the way SA plays and learn something from their efficiency and unselfishness. At this point, OKC needs to start thinking about how to prevent themselves from getting swept by the Spurs.

Honestly, this board amazes me. We have a team that has 19 wins in a row going into this game, has just played their hearts out, is up 11 points at the half, and posters in here are pissed that the lead is not more?

    Get over yourselves!

I like the lack of turnovers we have, and the fact that OKC thinks Fisher is going to go 6-6 to start the game again as if that wasn't a fluke in game 1. Their terrible decisions on offense are why they're shooting 36%.

I'm happy with out lead. . .but we're giving up way too many offensive boards to expect to be up this much later. I think either someone needs to hit Splitter in the back of the head and tell him to in rebound, or we need to put Blair in there instead of either him or Bonner.

    Bonner: 0 rebounds

    Splitter: 0 rebounds

Duncan is like our only frickin rebounder right now, with 8 first half boards. Diaw has 4 too, and he's mostly been playing WITH Duncan.

Westbrook foul on Parker looked borderline flagrant (@ game). What did the replays show?
looked clean to me. Even if there might have been body contact, the ref that called the foul couldn't have seen it from his angle. Westbrook had a clean block from up top. Ref might have reacted to the tp fall and called the foul as they sometimes do.

OKC has 10 offensive boards, but they only lead 21-20 in total rebounds. Some of those offensive boards they earned, but some were just horrible bounces. And if I remember right, most of them came with Timmy on the bench.

Personally, I'm excited that the Thunder are shooting 55.6% from the 3P line, but 36% overall from the field. They're shooting 25% on their 2P attempts.
This is why I said I was glad Fish went off last game in a loss for them. He would keep shooting, and he did. He hit one shot and that opened the flood gates for him, but he's no idiot and will dish the ball. Westbrook is embarassed. He's going to go all Kobe. I want to see the Thunder players arguing amongst themselves, doubting their coaches, see them driven before us, hear the lamentations of their women.

The spurs actually boxed out really well for the game, the only problem was that a lot of taps from the rebounds ended up being caught by Thunder players

Yeah, Westbrook shoots ~32% on three-pointers. I'm more than happy with him taking defended threes, fwiw.
Yep. They're going to fall in love with those 3's because it's the only thing working, and it will bury them.

We're not pissed so much as concerned -- concerned that we're playing so well in the first place, yet the score doesn't reflect that. It concerns us because it could be indicative of how narrow the disparity is in talent between the two teams, and how very different things could be in future games in this series.

I get your point, but the point that everyone has bringing up on offensive rebounds is valid. I think everyone would be happy with any margin of victory in a win but they see something that is exploitable and is keeping OKC in the game.
