he wasnt terrible nor great. Hes really there just to spread the floor ya know.
Proved his worth in the playoffs.
F@cking useless.
Thank God is gone.![]()

gotta love his defense and rebounding
At least he made a 3, I was surprised
Seriously, three years ago is on the phone. It's for you.
Gotta love that he's not starting and playing 35 minutes in the playoffs anymore. Frankly I don't know why you guys aren't thanking your personal god that he's not enough of a factor either way to require such strong opinions.
He made a three and got a couple rebounds.
He's the fourth bigman.
Seriously, adjust expectations.
Could have sworn he's been the first big off the bench lately..
Which is only for matchup reasons. How many minutes did he play? How many post ups did he have to guard? How many points did he give up? Again, this is the conversation we had three years ago, except for two things: 1. I was on your side of it, and 2. It made sense to have this discussion at the time.
So what?
Ginobili comes off the bench, does that mean Green is better?
The first time the Thunder ate into the Spurs' lead was immdediately after Bonner entered the game. The second time the Thunder started devouring the Spurs' lead was right after Bonner entered the game. Okay, so it's not all his fault. But he's not spreading the floor on the offensive end. Mostly he doesn't want to take a shot, so he takes two dribbles and dumps it off to someone. It's bad enough when a guy is missing 3's - but when he won't take them? The Thunder are just about playing 5-on-4 when he's out there.
this is why bonner is worth something
?
Didn't he help extend the lead with his made 3?
Hes referring to the 2nd half when Bonner entered with about 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd.
He was behind on every defensive play causing the Spurs defense to collapse in the 3rd and early in the 4th
I'm confused..... I thought Bonner was the king of +/- how does he have a -4?
You mean when they were hacking Splitter for 3 minutes?
tbh, people will for me saying this, but while he and Splitter were out there we couldn't grab a rebound... and it was Collison (his dude) getting all of them...
Honestly he should not be in these games. Neither should Blair, but the Spurs should likely shorten their rotation to 3 bigs with one of the 3s filling in for small ball 4 when its needed.
Given the way Pop refused to sit Neal in the Clippers series I don't see this happening so I just hope he makes some 3s.
why even bother to make another thread about Bonner, we all know he sucks
He also fouled Harden on a drive to the basket for an and1 that cut the lead to under 10... it just feels like every time he fouls a driver is an automatic and1...
It's a good matchup against Collison. Not sure what you guys would prefer.
for him to do what he's supposed to do, make 3's and rebounds
How so? Because he's getting destroyed on the boards and he's not exactly shooting lights out. The Thunder do a good job (or have done in this series) of closing out on threes and Bonner is so slow on those closeouts that it really hurts the Spurs movement.
If Bonner hits his 3s at a good clip I'm not sure it outweighs his inability to keep Collison off the boards. I'm a defender of Bonner, but he's not giving enough (that another player can't give) in this matchup for me to think its a good one.
Bonner takes too much time to shoot a 3, it seem like he has to lock and load
and that gives enough time for the defender to contest the shot
