The backcourt of Jedi Master Manu Ginobili and Hermes-like Tony Parker has to be considered one of the greatest backcourt tandems in the history of basketball, whether professional, or amateur.

How do they compare with the other greatest backcourts of all time?

And also, how they compare even with all star backcourts? I am especially interested with a particular match-up. If Gino/Parker came up against Oscaqr Robertson/Jerry West, both tandems at the very peak of their skillsets, who would have won?

    Discuss.

    Thanks guys. Go Spurssssssssssss go!!!

Frazier/Monroe is probably still the gold standard, and Cousy/Jones has more les, but Ginobili/Parker is firmly in the Top Five now.

They'd be in the conversation, but I don't think too many people would put them ahead of Thomas/Dumars & Magic/Scott.

And also, how they compare even with all star backcourts? I am especially interested with a particular match-up. If Gino/Parker came up against Oscaqr Robertson/Jerry West, both tandems at the very peak of their skillsets, who would have won?
Once you start putting any all star next to guys like MJ, Magic, Oscar, Jerry, Kobe a Tony/Manu backcourt would be so far down the list that this isn't even worth discussing.

FWIW, Bill Simmons seems to be on the bandwagon of TP/Manu passing Thomas/Dumars. Not worth much, tbh.

Only played one year together, and it was the worst statistical season for each of them -- Havlicek because he was a rookie, Cousy because he was on his last legs.

Two amazing players, not an all-time great backcourt.

Not better than Isiah/Dumars, but I'm proud that they're in the conversation.

Frazier/Monroe is probably still the gold standard,
I'd disagree. I'm not sure I'd put it ahead of Parker/Manu as is, but definitely wouldn't when you consider that the Clyde/Monroe best seasons only overlapped for 3-4 years. Frazier had his best (at least statistically speaking) seasons prior to Monroe's arrival, and Monroe's best individual years were in Baltimore.

Maybe that's enough, but I'd say naye for "gold standard" status.
