The 99 Bulls take the cake easily if you could even consider what the organisation put on the floor as the defending champions. Next in line would probably be the 06 Heat, who I believe were swept the following year by Chicago (ironically enough) in the first round. The Bulls that year were no juggernaut, I think they were either 4th or 5th in the East.

The Mavs this year were swept in the first round as well, but they lost to the number 2 seeded Thunder. Nothing to be ashamed of there as OKC is an elite team.
