your bench usually plays worse on the road
Because you play Bonner. He does jack .
Thankfully Pop realized this and played Blair. No more f--king Bonner.
your bench usually plays worse on the road
The second quarter has been powered by the bench all season. The bench isn't getting it done right now.
Not the world's biggest mystery, tbh.
I like blaming Bonner but his minutes came in the first quarter tonight, if we want to be honest about that . . .
Surely Pop knows they gave up a 10-0 run as soon as Bonner's red head hit the floor.
Couldn't agree more. When you pay special attention to Bonner on defense, it's depressing. Giving up dunks to Collison and offensive rebounds immediately. It kills any momentum we have 9 out of 10 times. He is the one that should have had the Blair treatment all along. Blair did more in his limited time than Bonner has all playoffs.
Sure, but a 10-0 run is what it is. Bonner has that blow by defense. He should be getting into foul trouble, getting tossed for flagrants and such, not stepping away from contact.
Um okay so why the has no media member asked Pop about Bonner vis-a-vis his futility?
Yes Bonner inserted, for all the small things, instincts, positioning, whatever... it benefitted the Thunder.
It was the opposite of when Blair came in, who made immediate impact.
Do you thank him for not putting Blair back in?
10-0 run with Bonner on the court started it all. Same as game 3, momentum was lost in Bonner's stint and took us a long time to regain it in game 4, game 3 we were already bad, but Bonner totally snuffed out any chance we had and helped put the Spurs in an even bigger hole that they couldn't get out of.
We lost momentum when Bonner was put in, we never got it back until Pop put in Blair. Pop waited too long to play Blair, but we made a comeback when he did, then he benches Blair for rest of the game.
Pop gets an F-
Maybe it is because you have no real back-up PG.
He doesn't know why? Maybe it's because Bonner inexplicably continues to get extended first half run, Ginobili inexplicably continues to play under 30 minutes and Splitter inexplicably turned marsh mellow soft. Not that he was ever the second coming of Oakley, but still.
Time to start Ginobili and play him major minutes and bench Bonner. Green and Splitter should be given brief first half looks and if they don't respond, then it's time to go with Blair in the second half and go down to nine.
There was a huge offensive drought in the second from 9:28 to 5:28. Duncan, Green, and Diaw were playing during that stretch. Leonard replaced Green at 7:30. So it was not only the bench that was playing bad.
Really? Inexplicably.
look matts a nice guy and all but.... every thing is his fault plain and simple
Yeah, inexplicably. What the is he being saved for? Don't give me this about foul trouble, either. Pop basically fouled him out tonight. Should have put the pressure on the refs to call his sixth one when the game was still in the balance. It was a gutless coaching performance and his team responded likewise.
Why can Parker play 21 minute second halves, but Ginobili can't exceed 16? It's ridiculous. There's no balance. Run one into the ground, baby the other.
Bonner and Tiago.
Has nothing to do with foul trouble.
mills is but, pop again, won't trust him.
At this point, Blair deserves all of his minutes. Blair will at least get in the paint and throw his body around, will get you some putbacks. He'll at the very least show some balls.
On the other hand you have Matt Bonner, who is a lock to have negative impact in every game played in this series. And, you can only count on him making 1, maybe 2 good offensive plays, TOPS. That's simply the truth, and it's a terrible trade-off to have him in for the hope that he makes 1 three.
Let Blair play.
