Seriously, getting shut down by Perkins and Ibaka is not a reason to retire. If Boston gets to the WCF, Garnett will look the same.

Playing a top 3 defensive post player and best weakside shot blocker in the NBA and he needs to retire? Give me a break

Are you kidding? Did you see what he did at the end of the game?

Timmy lost a lot but he brought it tonight. He is a true winner in every sense. He did not choke. He played as well as he could and had some great numbers.

That dunk to settle down the crowd really helped us come back from what would have been a double-digit loss.

    Duncan still has it.

Easy for Chuck to say. I found it funny during the pre-game when he was saying "All that championship pedigree doesn't mean anything" how the would you know when you never won ? Tim played great tonight and nobody is gonna push him out the door..

the SPurs can content as long as Duncan plays - the day Duncan retires I'm not sure how much the Spurs can do.

As long as you can help a team win a championship, you should play for one.

This. I love the Chuckster but he sometimes runs his mouth and doesn't think what he's saying.

And what should, Lebron do if he doesn't get past Boston?

TD has 2-3 more seasons left if Pop continues to control is minutes as he has.

I said it before (with my number of posts, that's always true) that the Spurs are mooching off the playoff teat and not building contenders. They are making money by having extra games in the season. It's a tease of sorts for the fans.

Next year Tim won't be such a financial ball and chain, so maybe someone who wants to make it to the playoffs decides to come to SA, maybe a decent big and some real bench 3pt shooting help instead of the lame duck Bonner/Blair combo.

I agree Tim has nothing left to prove, Manu in not the same Manu, tony isn't getting any younger and I don't want Duncan to go out when he is a s of himself. I believe this team can CONTEND as long as Duncan plays but I don't see us beating OKC

Tim is clearly in decline and has been for a couple of years. THe problem for both him and the Spurs is that he's got little to no frontline support around him. I don't know how many times or ways I can say this. The Spurs have to stop ing around with the likes of Bonner and Blair and get a couple of young, athletic bigs that can help Duncan with the heavy lifting. He shouldn't have to continue doing this work alone. This was evident after the Memphis playoff series and it's even more evident now.

I hope the Spurs front office finally will commit to this being their biggest offseason objective.

It's his choice. Wouldn't really lose anything if he did it other than another year's paycheck. What ever he decides the front office should respect.

    This.

Timmy still better than 90% of the bigs in the NBA. Spurs need to get a physical big to pair with him next season.

Nobody thought we'd be here this year. Duncan will get close because we still have a good core unit.

Get out with that talk, seriously, do other fans of teams troll your team after a big loss at your team's forum?

Duncan had nothing to do with what happened tonight.

Duncan should do whatever he wants. Retiring would be fine but so would continuing to play.

In a couple of weeks, when Duncan would have cleared his head, Pop needs to have a talk with him to know for how long he still wants to play. Tim's answer to that question will define a lot what Spurs should do this offseason.
