You guys need to be weened off the Splitter . He's not the answer. He's soft, awkward and, other than the pick and roll, has bad fundamentals (especially on defense, guarding with his face instead of his hands) but hey, at least he's not trying to take charges instead of defending the rim.
Splitter was a liability in that he lost confidence and couldn't even hit free throws. Pop lost confidence in him.
Agree. He is soft, awkward, losses confidence easily, gets outboxed by stronger smaller players, can't jump to block shots and is injury prone. Counting on this guy for the big frontline upgrade was a failure.
I'm not sure if Tiago was going to help in this series. That said, Pop made Tiago look bad. Who knows what their relationship is really like since as fans we only see a limited perspective, but damn, there doesn't seem like a bright future for Tiago on this team. I haven't seen Pop blow a gasket like that in a long time, and nothing like this particular situation.
A couple of my buddies are hoping we can sign him. Tim will need to take a paycut and it will take a leap of faith and money on the part of the Spurs.
And Pop just diminished what ever trade value ter had.
