so I shouldn't drop my life savings on Las Furias Rojas?
Right now it's a three-way horse race with La Furia Roja, Die Mannschaft and Oranje. At least that's the way I see it. From a betting perspective and if you don't really have emotional investment or preference for any of these teams, it's best to diversify.

Word. I won both times in the past that I bet on La Furia Roja and so I was looking to perhaps complete the trifecta. I will probably sit this one out and wait until the WC in 2014. I'm kinda excited to watch some of these match-ups. I have been terribly bored by the product of MLS tripe being passed as soccer these days.

Definitely agree those are the top 3 teams, but it wouldn't shock me to see either Germany or Netherlands to not make the knock-out stage. With Portugal and Denmark in that group, it makes it too unpredictable. I think they'll both advance, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Lolitaly and Africa, while not favorites, have seriously improved.

And Portugal can be serious troublemakers

Germany is gonna win Euro imo

Portugal can be dangerous, I agree. I think I also agree that Germany is my favorite. Spain has a ton of talent but the Germans in ball man. Then again....the Netherlands are right up there, lost in the WC final and Van Persie is a porn star.

I don't think it'll be Spain, Germany or Netherlands will win it.

Although Spain is not my #1 favorite, lets not forget Narutorres finished his season on a high note. His confidence seems to be back, so he could make up for Villa's absence

Netherlands is stacked, but they are a bunch of mental midgets

I just think Spain is a too obvious of a pick. They certainly have a clear advantage over every team, they probably have one of the best defense + midfield combinations of all time. It's just absurd that guys like Fabregas, Silva, Mata all come off the bench. I would kill for any of them to start for Argentina. Argentina has defenders and midfielders, out of their top 10 players probably 8 or 9 of them are forwards. It's like every kid saw Maradona and dreamed of becoming an attacking player wanting to score goals, no attraction for other positions .

I just don't get how there's like several thousands of professional Argentine players around the world and they can't find 2 or 3 good defenders.

    I didn't pick Spain because:
    - No Villa, Puyol
    - It's just damn hard to go back-to-back

I think Netherlands take it though. Gotta support my RvP. Unless he leaves this summer, then him.

Then it's time to support Germany...Podolski and Mertesacker.

Another reason why I think they are doomed. Repeating, and threepeating, seems so hard to do, unless you're prime Kobe and Shaq/7-foot, 330 lb athletic, skilled monster.

In this case, it's back-to-back-to-back...Euro 2008, WC 2010, Euro 2012. If Barca can't repeat (Champion's League), Spain cannot either.

Tbh...the more I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if Itly wins it unexpectedly this year. Something is telling me they will do it.

If this happens, Baltlli is going to have a damn fine year anyway, even after almost being run out of Manchester by Mancini.

Concerns over potential racism from fans at Euro 2012 came to the forefront Thursday when black players for the Netherlands heard monkey chants at an open training session, one day before the tournament opens.

France are a very good offensive team. But 3 of their defenders are sucking right (rami, mexes, evra). M'vila is injured and won't play the first game.

Just the first game? I did pick him

Oh well, I got at least someone in the bench that'll make up for that game.
