Well Green was in the 2 home wins & he still played him, if he was going to bench him he should have done it sooner & yes it was panic mode by starting Manu.
The smart move would have been to bench Green in game 4 & start Jax.
It seems, the term panic mode is something we disagree on, as far as the definition.

If Diaw is kept next year and stays in the starting lineup than I hope that Splitter works on improving his back to the basket game. I am not sure his free throw percentage is going to decrease or increase by much but it would be great if he could be relied on to create his own offense with his back to the basket.

I haven't seen anyone making fun of you hating Pop also sucking Pop. You haven't either.

    It's your disingenuousness talking.

That is the frustration with this coach.

He can be a great coach at times.
He does choke in the playoffs, too. Hmmm...this could be one reason he loves Bon-Bon so much.

    What's your reason?

    Don't label it disingenuosness-just call it for what it is;

    Fact.

    I'm not surprised.

Once you place a label on a person-understanding has stopped. You are unable to see because you only see through your label-not the reality.

    Shame.

Every label you add just increases your level of blindness until you are completely blind.

Who would want to argue with someone who is blinded by hate, prejudice & bigotry?

^ You'd be lying if you said Pop didn't go full out panic mode, he should have given that 10 man rotation another shot at home, considering role players especially young ones play better at home, who knows maybe game 7 would happen today as a result.
This. At least Green was trying on defense. When Pop decided to bench him the Spurs defense got worse. Pop simly got outcoached. He never made a successful counter to what OKC did. Sometimes just throwing different looks on defense is enough to win a game.

I label a turd a turd because it smells and looks exactly like and evidence suggests that it has been dropped out of an ass.

You're just too disingenuous or stupid to recognize you are standing in a huge pile of it.

.638 field goal % in playoffs
2.8 rebounds in 13 mpg. (How's that stack up per minute to the other *bigs*?)

...however, this could explain why you looked at Bonner and saw an NBA player and looked at Pop and saw a coach who could still be good enough to lead his team to a le without choking again.

    Just sayin'

...and in the last quarter of the last game of the season when Duncan needed a break...Pop puts Diaw with 4 smalls and wondered why the defense went further in the toilet...

Pop couldn't use Splitter who had successfully relieved Duncan all season because he was blinded by his little tantrum.

Fast forward to the last 3 minutes of the game and Pop wouldn't call a timeout to try and get his team composed to pull out a victory-because Pop himself had already lost all composure.

Watch the game again and see for yourself-if you care to see truth.

Just can't play Splitter down the stretch in a close game with his terrible free throw shooting.

Well, yes you can because his 50% ft's would not be as bad as getting killed by playing with 4 smalls. You might only get 1 point on a trip down the court but you wont give up 2 or 3 every freakin trip on the other end.

Also this was actually kind of a poetic justice on Pop because he is the main culprit of the hack-a-whatever.

The earlier point I was trying to make was that Splitter would have only played in the very early 4th qtr--just to give Duncan a break so Duncan could finish strong-but Pop went with Diaw and 4 smalls.

Bull ! If the choice is bad free throws or bad defense, you take the free throws. At least the clock stops and Duncan catches a quick breather! Diaw can't play defense with four guards, he barely does well with Duncan!

Is there any other report saying that Pop looooves Splitter?

    http://colunistas.ig.com.br/fabiosor...em-entre-eles/ (in Portuguese)
Splitter's agent Marcelo Maffia says it's all a misunderstanding. Splitter couldn't hear Pop's instructions because of all the noise in the arena.
They had a meeting the next morning, Pop thanked everybody, said he was proud of the team and said "I love you" to Tiago many times.
If you need to "hear Pop's instructions", then you have no understanding of the Spurs defense. This was the 80th game of the year, and he didn't ing know where to be? GMAFB. I'm sure they went over various scenarios where a double would be required, and Durant on the block was one of them. Tiago is just an airhead.

Our team just had too many young pieces to rely on. This thunder squad has been pushing in the playoffs with a good run starting two years ago. Plus last year they got to the WCF, their experience was building game by the game.

We had too many young pieces that Pop did or could not rely on. With this unreliance came the consequence of proper adjustments being unable to be made. Come to think of it, when was the last time Pop made an adjustment? I think it was choosing to start Tiago against the Lakers, other than that he chose to fold if it got tough and we had some great shooting most of the time. Unfortunately the Spurs were never in need of making adjustments and when we finally did in game four it was still a heartbreaker loss.

Our young guys need more experience in the same way the thunder did. Another big to make them pay in some way and relieve pressure off Tim should be a priority.

You must of missed Pop screaming at Kawai to double on Durant in an earlier game. He looked a lot more confused than Splitter and pretty much ran past him going for the steal. Durant scored with the bonus on that play. It just seemed a lot of Spurs were confused with "when to apply the double on Durant" play through-out the whole series.

Now i dont think Kawai is a airhead and he didn't see the doghouse after. Maybe it's on POP for not being any clearer or getting it all sorted during training.

    Double standards really.
