He basically was for the playoffs. Not saying he will for us Duncan will be the center.
I can't see KG retiring after playing so well but I guess crazier things have happened. Also remember that post game interview of him basically rubbing it in peoples faces that he can still play this game at a high level. I think he goes to a contender even if it isn't us I feel confident that we will still have a chance to land him.

Regardless of what happens with Garnett, I certainly hope Bonner and Blair are moved off this roster.
I think we can already agree it would be awesome to have KG here but it is also not exactly something we should get our hopes up for.
But now i can't stop imagining. Everybody begging for the Duncan-Splitter combo will be in awe at the Duncan-KG duo. The IQ, defense, and passing those two possess... damn you for putting this idea in my head
Also according to Hoopshype, the Celtics appear interested in Danny Green. S&T possible? Because the Spurs can match any offer put for Green.
6 pages for something that will never happen......might as well start a dwight howard to SA thread too.
actually... as long as we're throwing in possibilities. howard becomes a free agent in summer '13. this year as we all know timmy's 21 mil per year contract is done and will likely sign on for somewhere near half that figure. at the end of this upcoming 2012-2013 season manu's 14 million and jax's 10 million come off the books as well. we theoretically would have cap space to make a max offer
Absolutely, but do you think he'd get minutes ahead of Bonner?
Not sure why they would want Danny Green. I'm sure if hes cheap and there they would go for him, but that goes for 80% of the league. Avery Bradly is going to be the starter if Allen leaves, plus they are probably going to have a draft a guard given their position.
I'll float this out there though, if Celtics and KG were willing to do a sign-&-trade with the Spurs but it meant giving up Green, Splitter, and filler (Blair, Bonner, maybe Neal) or it was TP, Splitter, Green, and filler for Rondo + KG, would you consider either deal and how fast would you pull the trigger or reject it?
The over under on Rondo going "Spree" on Pop is about 2 minutes.
KG won't be retiring but he won't be with the Spurs. No way he takes the vet min which is probably all we are going to be able to offer after resigning Duncan and Diaw.
I would give up Splitter and Green quicker than a rabbit gets ed for two years of Kevin Garnett starting next to Tim.
Howard wants to be a celebrity in a big market . Probably wants a shaq type career
If Garnett was a possibility, he'd get the MLE and Diaw would be offered the Bi-Annual exception (1.9m), probably with a promise of a pay day next season.
Garnett is a very loyal guy. We saw that based upon how long he stayed in Minnesota - and he didn't really want to leave there either. He also is a player who doesn't like change.
Therefore, I sincerely doubt that, at this age, he'll want to pick up and start over some place other than Boston. My prediction is he either plays with the C's next year or he doesn't play at all.
he just wants to be a free agent in my opinion. he doesn't want to "commit" to an extension anywhere and hasn't demanded a trade because there is no single destination he is eyeballing. he wants to be a free agent. he wants a bunch of teams swooning over him, trying to beg him to play for them. he wants to feel wanted. he knows darn well he won't go to a team like the knicks, lakers, heat, bulls through free agency because of cap constraints. if he wanted to go to one of those big market teams he would have to be traded there, yet he seems intent on hitting the market.
with that said, the teams that are projected to have a ton of cap space in the summer of 2013 are philadelphia, indiana, san antonio, brooklyn, boston, cleveland, charlotte, detroit, etc. mostly crap teams. dallas might but they're expected ot go hard after Deron Williams.
he should go back to minni....
Just out of curiosity, do anyone know why there is animosity between Duncan and KG? Obviously they've rivaled each other their entire careers for the most part, but as Tim seems to be pretty chill and get along with just about anyone I'm curious as to why he doesn't like KG.
1: We don't have the money for Garnett
2: Duncan and Garnett hate eachother
3: When's the last time we got a good free agent anyway?
4: It wouldn't matter since Stern still controls the refs
believe in my sources
