I think he could come cheap and also gives us a scoring big who can stretch the floor..I like Diaw but him being too passive can hurt us at times. I think he could be a realistic signing for us...unlike KG. What are yall thoughts?

Not sure if he would be that much better than Diaw. We really need someone more athletic next to Duncan, and a 36 year old Jamison probably isn't the answer

That move wouldn't really help us. It's a nice thought, but Jamison isn't the answer. We need a center that can guard the paint. As Richie said, he's not athletic enough to do that for us. Or at least not significantly enough.

He will be cheaper than Diaw, and he is also s big who can put the ball on the floor. He also isn't afraid to score. Diaw passed up a lot of mid range looks against OKC. And it allowed them to sag in the paint. We don't know what kind of $$ Diaw wants. But I'm sure Jamison could be available for the minimum. Which is a low risk/high reward imo

If we can sign him for almost nothing then I say go for it. But only as a last resort. If we can't do anything in the draft and/or make a trade. I certainly don't think it'd hurt us.

I'm not saying he will be the only big we get this offseason. But Blair/Bonner should be gone (or at least I hope). I think he could be a good replacement that can give us a TRUE scoring big and also versatility..

No more over the hill type players. This is the problem with the Spurs, they get guys past their best years then they get run out of the gym by younger more athletically explosive players and people wonder what happened.

Tbh, a bottle of Jamison would be more useful at this point.

    ^ This

We have enough undersized, underskilled players.

Unless an potential acquisition is going to help the Spurs "close the gap" versus a team like the Thunder, it's not even worth discussing.

Ummmm did y'all not read the original post?? Lol

I know we need a defensive minded big. I get that. Why can't we get both? I mentioned how he'd come cheap...I'd honestly take Jamison for the vet minimum, than giving Diaw the MLE.

Jamison won't come for the vet min somebody will pay him more than he is worth.

He's still scoring more than 15 a game. You don't get guys like that for the minimum.

I would prefer a guy like Brand if Philly uses the amnesty clayse on him. At least he is decent defender. Jamison could never defend, even in his prime.

Jamison is undersized and a horrible rebounder and defender at this point. Dude scored like 19ppg this year but chucked at a terrible rate
On an even worse team to do it.
