their plan was to switch everything, so i dont know if having lebron would have helped, by design he would have switched on every pick
Durant had 2 points on 0-2 shooting vs. Lebron..
Against the rest of the team, he scored 34 points on 12-18 shooting..
The Heat decided to use Lebron on Westbrook down the stretch, instead..Westbrook was killing Wade and Chalmers from the 2nd quarter until the end of the game, thus forcing the switch..
Should Miami have Lebron on Durant and let Westbrook try to dominate the rest?..or let Durant have his and shut down Westbrook and the rest?..

Lebron denied the ball from Durant on a handful of possessions, too..he's Miami's only defender that can deny the ball from Durant, which is the best defense against him..
Durant did plenty of damage in isolation situations, along with getting open looks and catching the ball in comfortable situations..
Chalmers is considered the best defensive pg in the league by some people. I'd stick him on Westbrook and Lebron on Durant.
hey..say mane...All I know at this point in time..that is 4 wins from being 0-3 in the finals...and you're 3 losses away from having Kool tell you BOHICA..
Bend Over Here It Comes Again
i would keep the switching defense but put lebron on durant in the 4th and scrap it. with westbrook i would start traping, just like the thunder did to the spurs.
haslems defense has been awful. he gave it his all last year against dallas and was much better.
anyone with a good-functioning brain wouldn't have played midget lineups against OKC, it seemed to work out fine in the starting minutes but the lack of size turned out to be costly later in the game. it might be good strategy to play small-ball against OKC, like the spurs did with Diaw at C, but at least you need one big guy on court (e.g. tim duncan) to block shots and to frustrate them little s every now and then
the primary move we're gonna make this offseason is kickin phili 's ass the out of office, no matter if we win it this year or lose

Yeah let's be honest when Westbrook and Durant only have Bosh or Haslem at the rim even if Lebron or Wade or Chalmers stays in front of them most of the time, one lapse and its two points. Bosh and Haslem aren't stopping . Collison raped them on the boards and he played little minutes. Heats problem is in the paint mainly
I would let Chalmers start on Westbrook, and just play off of him and force him to win with all jumpshots. Put Wade on Durant early and just have him focus on crowding Durant as much as possible, and use his quickness to prevent Durant from getting to the hoop or super open jumpshots. Let Lebron start on Sefalosha and play a lot of help defense early, to try to keep him as fresh as possible for the 4th.
They also need to really work on their pick and roll/pop defense. It was atrocious and resulted in a lot of wide open shots for Durant, which doesn't help when he is already on fire.
People seem to forget a washed up MWP gave Durant alot of trouble. Most games in that series Durant had Kobe-esque shooting percentages. Would love to see what Bron could do on him, if not the whole game atleast in the 4th quarters.
I figured Battier would be able to have similar success. What happened when Battier was on him? Did he play good defense, just KD was hot? Or did he suck on him?
He should certainly play him more, but he can't play him for 46-48 minutes, and still have a great game offensively. Battier and LBJ should be on him though.
He even said himself, he along with Wade need a rest. They really only played 6 players yesterday.
Battier wasnt horrible but hes just too short and not strong enough to hold his ground and crowd him the way Metta did. LeBron has the height, strength, and athleticism to give KD trouble. Would be awesome to see that match-up.
james guards kd to much it will get him in foul trouble then the heat I mean james fans will really blame the refs
The problem is that Lebron is Miami's only consistent source of offense..if he's guarding Durant for 40 minutes, his offensive effort will be limited..I'd have him guarding Durant for stretches, not the entire game..
Battier was alright on D, but he's no longer a difference maker..
Miami's pick&roll D has gone downhill since Joel Anthony was removed from the rotation..he's one of the worst offensive players in NBA history, but he's one of the top 3 big men in the NBA at defending the pick&roll..
Spoelstra must find minutes for Anthony and Cole, while eliminating Miller's minutes and finding a few minutes of rest for Lebron..
Solid analysis.![]()
Well said.
Lebron should've guarded Durant. The more imparct Lebron has on the game, the better.
For the 4th quarter no doubt.
I don't think the heat can win this series if they don't play lebron on KD think the heat have to ride lebron till the wheels fall off.
Put Bron on Durant all game tbh. I think if there is a player who can stop Durant it'll be Bron.
It was smart of Spo to not put Bron on KD for more than a few possessions. Two things were bound to happen:
1) He would foul LeHype out. Only Kobe is slicker than KD with the rock in his hands.
2) He would have embarrassed LeHype. Simply put, LeHype can't check him without help.
KD is a bad bad man. Acknowledge it hommie.![]()
You and Harlem Ho can act like the ass kicking currently underway isn't happening all you want to but I know what's up...hey..say mane check this ..I hit up Timvp and asked him how much he got on the party...that's right I'm proposing a Spurstalk members only "Lebron 0 for 3 BBQ party"..
hey listen I will spot the ribs, links, and potato salad but after that it's gonna be BYOB... you down![]()
