He's en led to his own opinion, and hopefully most dominant players in their positions think they are the best at it; but yes, he is wrong. With no rings to show for it and his constant no showings, Tim is the better player at the PF position.

Regardless what you think of Malone, many have said that Duncan isnt a forward and just pretends to be.

This includes Marc Stein, Bucher etc.

He plays with his back to the basket. He uses a baby hook A LOT. He's 6'11'. He doesnt like to shoot from outside.

Hes a center in all but name. No need to get all butt-hurt about it.

Besides, Larry Bird is the best forward of all time so who cares?

Many players who he played against and many others call him the best PF in the history of the game too, so more say that then them two you mention....

Its a label, Westbrook is labeled as a damn PG & most would agree he's really a 2 guard.

listen to what Shaq (the man who's had more playoff battles with Tim then anybody) about Tim being a center:

It's wonderful that Karl Malone took some time off from "hunting little Mexican girls" to drop this opinion upon all of us.

Okay............... He said that there, BUT MOST PUT Tim as the best PF ever, so Shaq says that there and you categorize him as a C NOW? He has played both and played them both well! He is still the best PF in the history of the game and you will not tell me otherwise. Malone was just a PF, the fact that Tim can play both PF and C and be named as both shows me how special he is, that only adds to his legacy that they categorize him as both IMO.

Saying Tim Duncan isn't a PF is like saying Magic isn't a PG because he played other positions. He's a natrual PF (untill he passed 30, than he became a little too slow). In 97-05 he played PF and those were easily the best years of his respected career. In those 8 years he averaged 22.4ppg, 12.1rpg, 2.5bpg on 50% shooting. Not to mention the fact he didn't have a play-making stud of a PG in Stockton.
Oh yeah, also in that time period he won

Malone is just majorly butthurt that Duncan kicks his ass.

Tim 4 finals for 4 Championships and 3 finals MVP's
Malone 3 finals for 0 championships

Karl might have averaged more PPG but he did have John Stocking dishing the rock to him all his career.

    lol malone

I kinda hope we add a BIG man to play for us next season, a true 7 footer, so Tim can slide back to PF to finish his Legendary career at the PF slot where he started. That'd end future bull comments and conversations from butthurt people like Malone.

Even if Tim is the greatest PF ever (I think so), he himself would never ever claim that ... just think about that for a second

What about the le they won in 2007 with Fabricio Oberto playing next to TD? Are people saying that he was the starting PF?

I honestly believe we will all be in for a major surprise on draft day. I'm not claiming to have a source or having psychic powers or anything, but I just believe that the front office will make that their priority this summer because they know they waited too long to find a compliment to TD, and it ended up costing them, and making him look older than he is.

Did Malone have a near-quadruple double in a Finals clincher? Did Duncan have a pass-first PG?

Malone still has no championships so I'd better figure out how to prop him up in All-time PF conversation

    I love the double-standart

Malone gets props when the Lakers beat San Antonio in 2004. In this case Duncan is a PF because old Malone hold his own against TD, even though Duncan had a 21/12 series and Malone was 10/8.

When Duncan gets 27ppg/17rpg/5apg against prime Shaq in 2002 (Shaq was 21/12/3) it doesn't matter because Duncan isn't a C and Shaq played against D-Rob.

But when it comes to compare Duncan with other PFs, Duncan is a C. I assume that D-Rob, Rasho and Nazr were all PFs then.

It doesn't matter that young KG played as a SF and played as a Center in the end of his career.
It doesn't matter that Dirk is a perimeter player that has never played as a prototype PF, ever.
It doesn't matter that Chucky played the forward position his whole career with the size of a SG.
It doesn't matter that Bird he played as a PF once he slowed down. The label stuff is not applied to him. He is a SF.

The thing is: Duncan is better than Malone and Malone knows it. That's why he brings the label up everytime he talks about TD.

He should be happy to be considered the 2nd best PF of all time, considering the choke artist he was in the playoffs. If i had to choose a PF among the GOAT PF list, Malone would be the last one i would choose. I would take KG, Dirk and Chucky over him, especially if my team didn't have a HOF PG feeding my player.

Jordan was not in the Finals in 94, 95 and after 98 btw. This excuse got old.

Duncan is too slow to guard Pfs now but he is still a good rim protector, he's been in long need of an athletic big. Like an Ibaka.

    Sheesh...A bit harsh I think...
in no way is that harsh. You bang a 13 year old, then deadbeat dad your way through life, you get everything that comes at you.
