Yes.
Their Philosopher's Pie is phenomenal (heh alliteration). I signed up for their beer club, too.

Goddammit.
if they can make me laugh with the tip jar and i have cash i will tip.
I always, always tip the the piano man.
Or maybe the person just wants to drink and eat and not visit with the waiter? Maybe the person does not want to waste anyone's time when he knows what he wants already.I agree 100%.
Nothing worse than approaching your table to introduce yourself, ask how they are doing and some jackass dad interrupts you just so he can tell you what he wants to drink.
Me: HI, my name is _____, and I'll be taking care of....
Asshole customer (cutting me off): I'll have a coke, she'll have a sweet tea with extra lemons, etc..
If you're already in a bad mood, stay your ass home. Geez.
Or maybe he had to wait a long time for the table and just wants something to drink.
I mean your task is to find out what they want to drink and eat and bring it to them.
I admit to getting annoyed by waiters who are trying to be my friend and chit chat with me. I even had a waiter once sit next to me in my booth. No thank you. Please, take my order in a timely manner and bring out my food hot, and you will get a nice tip. I have even told waiters before, "This will be your easiest table and tip of the night. This is what I want to drink; this is what I want to eat."
Are you supposed to tip cabbies? If so, how much? I've never been sure...
I've left 500 dollar tips, I've also left zero. I don't tip based on the bill unless obligated to do so when I am with a large party. I base my tips solely on service. Usually I leave 20- 50 bucks.
Kind of related: How does one handle tips at a drive through or when walking in to pick up an order? I've always found this to be an akward situation as i put a line through the tip and write down the same total.
Well from what I umderstand, you are a hottie. Comes with the territory.
The education system is worse than I thought.
This was the point I was originally trying to make. Tips should be based on quality of service, not my bill total. In the case of Rainforest Cafe, the food is expensive because it's a tourist trap. The server has nothing to do with the fake rainforest. And then on the other hand, just because my bill is small at some restaurants, why does that server deserve less for doing the exact same thing?
In any case... I tip well, I always have. I just don't understand the system.
Why tip a cashier at Taco Bell?
You don't tip fast food. They make wages.
I don't tip my plumber, electrician, tile guy, but I do tip my lawncare guy.
Don't feel awkward about not giving them money for free. They don't feel awkward about not giving you food for free.
Was it at Macaroni Grill? I can't believe they think that that behavior is good business. I think it makes everyone so uncomfortable.
You people gonna answer this or not?![]()
Yes. $5 for short trips, extra if they load your suitcases in the trunk for you or something.
I hate it when they crouch next to the table too.
Wow, I have never had that happen at a Macaroni Grill. The worst part is you couldn't tell someone who handles your food to off.
Oh Jesus Christ, so letting the waiter give a 10 second introduction to be friendly is too much? You have to be a Grade-A cu.nt to think it's too much for a waiter to simply introduce themselves.
So Santa Fe has a restaurant week in late February or early March and its nice because during that time really expensive places drop their menu prices a huge amount in an effort to get people out. Its a week when Jess and I go to places we wouldn't otherwise think about going to because the bill would be way to high.
Well, one of the awesome parts of that is you realize how different the service is from a places like Chilis to a cities top places. The decision to tip well at those places is always easy because the service is so damn good.
But yeah,we're not rich so that's just a one week out of the year for us.
With that at ude, someone should just order a pizza and make it a movie night.
Hey don't talk to her like that.
