You beat me to it.
An unathletic tweener.
See: Jefferson, Al; Randolph, Zack
This guy is such an enigma. I wonder how far he'll drop.
Will he be this year's version of Blair?
I think he's too skilled to drop down into the 20's, let alone out of the first round. Blair was extremely undersized and not very skilled. He was probably overvalued as a mid-first rounder to begin with, whereas I think Sully has the talent to justify a lotto pick.
But, if he's been removed entirely from some teams' draft boards that obviously increases the chance he'll fall on draft day.
He looks like he could be Diaw's little brother lol. He still will be a 1st rounder.
This will be the guy that team "should draft" anywhere from 9-16, but may slide beyond that. Not sure how the Spurs could trade in to the 1st round really, but I'd give this guy a look if he starts to fall beyond that.
I just dont see a package built around Blair fetching a first rounder. Maybe a late second rounder?
DX says
best case: Glen Davis
worst case: Luis Scola
ill take the worst case please![]()
He won't get passed Miami at 27, maybe even Cleveland at 24 or Boston at 20 or 21.
Nothing like Blair--three inches taller, completely different skill set, ACLs.
Will not fall nearly as low as Blair.
Amazing how much people pick these guys apart after an extra year. He was the de facto #1 pick last year if he decided to leave school!!
There are concerns, but they've been blown out of proportion. His defense is a legit concern; but will it improve when he gets to work in an NBA strength and conditioning program? We'll see.
Moot point, though. He's not going to drop anywhere near us.
Sullinger is nothing like Blair sans medical. If you want a Spur to compare him to then take a look at Terry mings. Jefferson from Utah also comes to mind although Sullinger is capable of hitting the occasional three.
Blair doesn't even know how to shoot a jump shot. He may be the only player in the NBA who does not know how to shoot a jump shot.
Guess you didnt watch Splitter this past season...
...or, frankly, any time in his career.
If they're 1" stilts, you're onto something.
Some of ya'll are to laugh. You watch the one game a college kid loses and you think you know everything about his game. I've watched Sullinger play probably 30 games over his career, which is probably 29 more than the rest of you "but I've read draftexpress" experts.
I know, right? Dude has an ass as broad as an axe handle, good footwork and touch around the rim, and a mean at ude. In five years, he's going to be ZBo.
Oh, and he shot 40% from 3 on 1.4 attempts per game.
They actually have it the other way around, which would make a lot more sense.
BTW am I the only one seeing these think tank thread in the main forum? Is that intentional?
I was going to ask Bruno when the first one floated in.
Hey Bruno. Wassup with that?
It was my doing. Other than last year, we've always moved these threads into the main forum a few days before the draft before returning them once the draft is over. Then come the FA threads . . .
