I have been watching this guy's games for 3 years. The ty motor isn't something that just came up this season at UConn.

So far, its been noted that he lacks work ethic and effort. Interesting that he wants to join the Spurs or the Celtics given his lack of intensity.
Why doesn't a rookie help us now? Didn't Kawhi help us during our run in the playoffs? Drummond maybe a project on the offensive end but he would be a beast on defensive end by protecting the rim. Look at our defensive numbers when Duncan goes to the bench and Lorbek, Diaw or Splitter won't help those numbers. Also, if you don't want a rookie running the point, pick up veteran in free agency. Unlike you, I'm not tied to Parker and I refuse to go through another year with Parker pulling another disappearing act in critical playoff games.

Nice endorsement from his teammate
RT @blazersedge: UConn G Jeremy Lamb on UConn C Andre Drummond's NBA potential: "It depends on if he wants to work."
lol damn...![]()
I'm almost sure he'll slide a little bit now.
Drummond is a project on both ends of the floor. He's dumb and has a horrible work ethic. Shotblocking isn't great defense any more than steals are. Drummond has enormous potential, but sacrificing Parker for him in a season you're trying to win is moronic. Is the team supposed to depend on 36 year-old Ginobili not throwing up any stinkers like his game 6 in OKC? You're going anywhere in the west without an allstar?
LOL @ for brains and for desire Drummond being comparable to Leonard in a rookie year.
I'd pass on the lack of motivation alone. If playing basketball, which you would assume he likes to do anyways, for millions of dollars isn't motivating there isn't much that is going to push him to improve.
Scouts noted Leonard's shooting issues prior to the draft. Once drafted Kawhi took to the gym, even when they couldn't get the lights working, to improve his shot. Drummond doesn't have that drive and its not something you can teach. The NBA is the last place that you can just "get by", especially under Pop, which is exactly what every scout has been saying about this kid.
Where did you hear that?

"When asked what teams off the Top 5 radar want to meet with him, former UConn center Andre Drummond said the Celtics and Spurs."
Not really what he wants though.
The full quote isn't nearly as damning. Still, it's not as if he let the cat outta the bag...immense talent and potential, serious question whether he ever puts it all together.
Whoever said he could help us like Kawhi is way off base, based on what we hear on Drummond's work ethic, which alone, is a huge aspect to making it in the NBA.
Kawhi is in the gym when the lights are off, he's a very hard worker. IMO that is the main reason he did so well, he really worked his ass off to improve after being drafted and wants to improve everyday.
Guys with no work ethic are some of the biggest busts in NBA history.

Drummond is athletic enough and talented enough to play a reasonable career even with his work lousy ethic. I mean, Olowokandi played 9 seasons and had nothing like Drummond's athleticism but was pretty similar on most other accounts. He's not a guy I would ever expect to be any good on a winning team though; he reminds me of a 6'10" Beno in that regard.
When I said biggest busts in NBA history, I was referring to guys that had the potential to be stars, but lousy work ethics destroyed that.
Of course he can play for a long time, but he won't be a star with a crap work ethic. Trading TP, like someone mentioned previously, for someone with a horrible work ethic would be a huge gamble even if he does have the potential to be a big star down the road.
A guy with Drummond's potential + a horrible work ethic usually = bust.
I read the link posted below your comment, but it's I clear now that I mis-read. Looks like the Spurs and the Celtics were the ones interested in him, and not the other way around.
