Yeah. Pretty "weird", huh?

I think I'm going to shoot for a biathlon in September. Will keep North Austin boring.
Yeesh - I have never done a marathon or any athlon's
I played soccer my entire life, so I am used to running but I get so bored after 3 miles (plus not playing like I used to makes it harder since it's just for staying in shape and not playing a sport).
I definitely don't like the drink then run, but I don't mind the run then drink events. I need to join a men's league team up here for soccer.
BTW, Chump, definitely going to try and take advantage of going to UT basketball and Toros games now that I am here.
Pego drinks pale ales ed with habanero sauce prior to running half marathons
LOL I live up north but it still beats San Antonio in every way possible except for housing. Down in San Vato 400k gets you a mansion, here a 1200 sqft house from the 80s.
You last way longer than I do. I've been a dancer since I was about four, and have stayed active/athletic even in the years since I stopped actively training, so I've always been in good shape, but I have always hated running. Hated. Since I was a kid. Love walking, but can't stand running/jogging. You see me running, you can be certain you'll soon see whatever's chasing me.
I am ok with running a couple miles, but I'd much prefer compe ion through sport. I guess I need to find something else to compete at to keep in shape since there is no more college soccer for me (since the past few years).
I always stayed in shape through non-impact activities like swimming and cycling. I have had to really ease into running as I am so prone to severe shin splints if I don't. The trails around my place keep it interesting for me.
Same here, I'm basically incapable of doing activities that aren't fun like running or going to the gym.
I found a coed indoor soccer league, and also play tennis. That's the way to go - find a sport you love and play it. Also meet some cool people.
wow, you sound like a sissy
Nah, I'm staying in the USA.
you and all the other sissies?
You're running away with all the other cowards.
At least I can run away without getting shin splints.
Don't manly up the thread too much bro.
I could do that too, now since I worked at it -- but I'm not a coward like you. That's something you won't be able to overcome like I did the shinsplints.
What worked for you, out of curiosity? Change up insoles, running styles, or something else?
Really just a few weeks of walking, hiking and jogging. My mistake in the past was doing too much, too soon. It never mattered much with the other activities I did before.
I bet you were an awesome athlete in High School.
I'm also willing to bet you still talk about it.........a lot.
What's wrong with that?

Couldn't tell you. Portland has been weird for a very long time.
When Austin has their own series, like "Portlandia," then maybe it can be called weird.
