Brandon Roy will play in the Jamal Crawford Summer Pro-Am this weekend.
Brandon Roy Discussing Comeback: It sounds like Brandon Roy will attempt to make an NBA comeback next season. After months of rumors and speculation, he confirmed the news last night on Twitter.
Last night, Roy took to Twitter to answer questions from fans. Since he doesn’t have an account on the social media website, he used the account of his close friend and fellow Seattle player Will Conroy to interact with fans and comment on the rumors.
“Lord willing, I will play again soon,” Roy wrote in a series of tweets. “Yes, I’m preparing for a comeback. I’m training daily. I’m preparing for a return next year. I appreciate the love. Hopefully I’ll be back on the floor soon. Health is good.”
When asked if he would return to the Portland Trail Blazers, Roy said it’s unlikely.
“I wish, but due to the NBA rules I cannot play in Portland until 2014-2015,” Roy tweeted. “I’m looking to return sooner. Thanks for your support. I’m fortunate to have played for such a great fan base. No matter where I play, Portland will always have a special place in my heart.”
Sources close to Roy say that his training is going well and he’s feeling great. He’ll likely work out in Seattle as he prepares for the upcoming season.

I don't know if he can come back, but I wish him well. If he's interested, I'd love to have him in for a tryout.
I'd kick the tires and check under the hood. Probably not much left though. Good Luck to him.
Would LOVE to have Brandon Roy here. As much as I like the more specialized skills that Danny Green and Gary Neal bring to the team, a guy capable of scoring like a (healthy) Roy would be a huge asset for the post-Manu years.
His name alone will get many teams looking in his direction but if he could play at least half the way he did when he was prime. I'd get him over here I don't think a guy like him would come back without knowing he can still play at this level but we will see.
Wouldn't surprise me if Suns are one of his destinations, with how their training staff has been able to extend careers of injured players.

Of course if he proves in workouts that the knee is healthy and he can still perform at a high level, Spurs should definitely take a look. He plays well in the clutch, good ball handler, could play 1 or 2.
Is he considered a free agent or on waivers?

Spurs would be a good option for him because he could come back in a low impact system (Wouldn't have to be the star, play high minutes, etc). Slowly gaining strength in the knee and confidence while showcasing his skills for larger contract in the next season (I'd be ok with a 1 year rental, if he is healthy).

Amnestied, so he's an FA.
He'll want more.

Wow that was quick.

Y! Sources: Chicago, Dallas and Indiana among contenders pursuing free agent Brandon Roy. http://tinyurl.com/84fd6tj
Also got the German Kobe treatment on his knees.
Nice fella. I'd like him on our team. Split the minutes at SG with Manu 24 minutes each to preserve their bodies. That'd be quite a tandem. Nice guy, great talent. And he'd fit in with our old n busted spurs.
You do realize the team's biggest need is to become more athletic, right?
David Kahn: getting him back now does NOT make up for trading him for Randy Foye on draft day.
I'm just sayin'...
