Hall is still considering Texas but most likely would go to pac-12 school to be closer to fam on west coast - look out for UW, Oregon, USC getting visits
I think he's even considering moving back to Seattle for his senior season. That rumor was floating around a couple of months ago but got shot down. Hard to fault him for wanting to go home. He's going to be a stud for someone.

Quotes from DE Daeshon Hall (HornsNation):

"I've opened it up a bit," Hall said. "It was difficult. I just want to be close to home. I'm still open to any opportunities, but I'd like to be closer to home."

"It's (Texas) still a school I'm going to consider," he said. "They're still near the top of my list."

"I had been thinking about [decommitting] for a long time," Hall said, "but I just wanted to make sure that was what I wanted to do. I feel like it's the best thing for me to do so I can look back and see if I really want to go to Texas or not."

"I just want to make it to the next level in something," he said. "Playing basketball would be cool, but my main choice would be football."

“That's the only reason I'm decommitting is because it's pretty far from my family,” Hall said.

Can't be mad at him for this, as long as he doesn't lie and go somewhere away from the west.

Also, is it just me or is Hall way too skinny to be a DE

Diaz & Davis should move on and target ?
Unless UT has a sleeper prospect in mind, I don't see where they'd go in-state at the high school level. Like I mentioned above, JUCO has to be an option but it's weird that things are temporarily on hold with Alfred knowing that Hall was out the door. Hopefully they can find a difference maker out-of-state whose recruitment is still open (much like they did with WR Devon Allen).

First player who comes to mind is DE Marcus Farria of Centennial, AZ.
If I remember correctly, his name was mentioned sometimes in last years thread. I don't know how open his recruitment are, but he's the first who comes to my mind. Maybe even one of the other JUCO linemen, Marcus Hardison?

I, somehow, hope this open things up with Mike Mitc .

FYI that 24/7 reported Hall's parents are getting back together and will be living on the West Coast, so that was a huge factor in his decision to back out of his commitment. Looks like he will be moving home.

To add to this to those who hadn't already heard, they will be in the Seattle area.

Some good news from OrangeBloods. They spoke with WR Devon Allen recently and he's trying to set up an unofficial visit to Texas in July. He and his family are aiming to visit several other places including Cal, Michigan, Ohio State and Stanford. He is a Buckeye legacy with his father having played baseball up there.

I guess that makes the controversial qb compe ion a little less controversial lol.

Although it's been known that Showers will be the guy.

Dammit Johnny. As a former Kerrville Tivy student who graduated in the same class, I'm not surprised. Lots of people in Kerrville love him though since he's the best player to come out of there in a long time.

Yeah met some people from Kerrville while in Destin and they love the guy. Heard that he's quick to anger, though. Oh well, Showers will be the guy regardless.

Good to see fellow Tivy grads like me in here.

I'm juuuust a bit older than Pop, however.

Johnny M was awesome for the Antlers and he was one of the best ever to play there. I'm sorry he got in trouble.

Happy for Hall, his desire was to be close to his family, and that is exactly why he left. No fault in that one bit.

We are pretty set at DE for next year, but we probably one guy in this class, maybe two if Jeffcoat leaves early.

Yes, I like Daeshon Hall quite a bit as a prospect. Yes it's a hit to the 2013 class. If Hall develops his body and his game, he'll play in the NFL.

Alfred (if it happens) alone won't be enough. If Texas strikes out in 2013, the Texas staff must do well in 2014. Thomas, Roberson, and Garrett might go from best 2 of 3, to a necessary 3 out of 3.

You can't fault Hall for staying with his family. Thank goodness his folks might be getting back together. I wish them all the best.

The best prescription for off season blues is booking trips. I just booked Ole Miss and I feel much better.

StubHub is extremely reasonable right now fellas. About $25 above face value.

I agree Bill, everything about Hall screamed that he would be or could be an NFL quality DE. His measurable are off the charts.

Still I'm happy he is part of a family that is coming back together and he can be there to help the process.
