Suns will get multiple picks from the Lakers, had been talk earlier of two first rounders so my belief is that it is at least the two 1sts

New York was never really a serious option for Nash, he preferred the Lakers

Initial thoughts are that Suns did what was best for them getting multiple assets for Steve instead of letting him walk for nothing.

Although I can't see the Lakers doing a deal that doesn't send some salary back.

Nash still has to agree to this by resigning with Phoenix, we'll see if that happens. And as DPG said, I'm curious how the salaries would match up.

It's possible... LeClutch and Bosh technically were signed and traded for picks...

I see - I forgot they had that & that it can be used in S&T. Great move for the Suns to get a couple first round picks AND a trade exception for what is likely 9M+

    lol Canada
    lol NY

The entire city of Phoenix is on suicide watch.

I'd rather be raped than see Nash in a Lakers uniform.

A deal to send Steve Nash to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for draft picks is "all but done," according to a report from John Gambadoro of KTAR Phoenix:

There isn't anyone PHX would want IMO - the TE is probably way more important to them. I could see some interest in Ebanks though.

He isn't really agreeing to resign in PHX. The S&T has a structure in place that deal is null and void if the trade is not completed in 48 hours of signing the offer.

The deal is suspected to include at least two first rounders, also according to Gambadoro. Rumors have been swirling around the veteran pointguard, with the Toronto Raptors being quote vocal about their interest in Nash. The rumored deal would be beneficial for both the Suns and the Lakers. By signing Nash and then trading him, the Suns gain value in return for his departure rather than simply losing him in free agency. The Lakers, already well over the luxury tax, would be unable to afford Nash on the open market, but a deal with Phoenix would allow them to use their $8.9 million exception to make a compe ive offer.

Nash would be of substantial benefit to the Lakers, whose lack of depth at point guard contributed to their early exit from the 2012 NBA Playoffs. A veteran who can move the ball around as well as shoot would certainly be a big step up for the team.

MIA had cap space though - LA does not. But as Mel said, they have their Trade Exception from Odom.

But in looking at that, the TE is 8.9M so Nash's first year salary can be no larger than that.

I phrased that wrong....I meant that Nash would need to agree to basically signing with LA.

As far as what Phoenix wants, from what I'm hearing right now, they tried getting Shumpert from New York, and they had something agreed to, but NY pulled Shumpert off the table so Phoenix moved on. The way they see it is two 1st rounders and a TE are better than letting him leave for nothing.

Where is mid? He always called Mitch "Cupcake". Within the last 4 years alone:

    Pau for Kwame
LO to Dallas for a $9M TPE
    $9M TPE for Nash

Nash is a TOSB, but he's a TOSB than can SHOOT and can PASS. The spacing for our still intact twin towers just got less congested. I dare teams to leave Nash open.

    NA = FCKED!

LOL no..... the lack of a non-TOSB shooting guard contributed to that, tbh....
