Revisit this in the playoffs when 40 year old Steve Nash is trying to check Russell Westbrook..
and let's face it...How is Westbrook going to defend Nash...fact is he isn't..They will now be forced to play our bigs one on one no more double teaming or it's lights out Nash from the 3...or Kobe eating up Harding or Thabo in a 1 on 1 match...pick your poison

My guess is Grant Hill joins Nash in LA. Probably for the lower mid-level.

Bingo.... Hill will undergo the Kobe procedure and then it's on..Nash already being a loyal Laker and @the Kobe Procedure
Sources told ESPN.com that Nash will try to convince longtime teammate Grant Hill, one of his closest friends in the game, to join him with the Lakers.

ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported over the weekend the Lakers were one of four teams (along with Toronto, New York and Phoenix) in the running for Hill after the 39-year-old's recent trip to Germany to undergo the same platelet-enrichment treatment on his knee that [Kobe] Bryant credited for his rejuvenated knee last season.
Hill may be 39 years old, but after undergoing the "Kobe procedure," he still has enough left in the tank to help the Lakers compete for another NBA le.

Suddenly, the Lakers—who, just one week ago, seemed to be one of this offseason's ultimate failures after failing to get into the top 10 of this year's NBA draft—are right back in the running. Instead of going young, they're going the old-and-wise route, and after acquiring Nash, Hill will be the perfect complement.

In Hill, the Lakers aren't necessarily looking for someone to light up the scoreboard—they're looking for a playoff-experienced, veteran presence to give this team a boost off the bench without spending a ton of money.

Regardless of all their past ups/the stupidity of not trading Nash earlier, what would you have preferred the Suns do with Nash this off season? I understand they should have moved on a lot earlier and gotten more for him, but given where they are now, I don't see any better outcome regarding Nash.

This would be a fantastic move if the Lakers can trade Kobe away for a good character guy like a younger Grant Hill.

As of now, I am not sure how Kobe and Nash can share the ball.

Kobrick has a no trade clause and there's zero chance of that TOSB going to Phoenix tbh.... Plus the salaries couldn't possibly match, right?

Somebody explain please...Why couldnt the Lakers have done this?

Goran Dragic contract: 4-year, $30M deal with potential to be $34M from annual $1M All-Star bonuses. 4th year is player option...
I agree and thought the same when I first heard this ... but:

    1. We needed someone to agree. Rox would of needed to sign Goran and agreed to the picks. Who knows if rox would of agreed?

    2. Lakers are in salary cap pending further deals. You pay 18 million (with cap hit) for Nash, you dont do that for Dragic. I know Goran is younger and in SOME ways may be the better player (at this point) but this is the best splash they could make within reason. Im just worried that if we do want to trade Bynum or Pau we may regret not having a few picks to dangle ...

Thanks...I later saw a Yahoo article that explained the situation...Personally, I hope the Lakers don’t dangle draft picks or take on the Magic’s debt to make a Howard trade…

Not to worry. The next available first rounder that the Lakers can trade is their 2017 pick and their best tool to absorb future financial commitments from Orlando, the Odom trade exception, has been used to acquire Nash.

Crawford is a journeyman who teams have appreciated so much he will have played for five diferent teams in the past six seasons while Nash is a Hall of Famer.

    KD not a happy camper:

"Seeing Steve Nash go to the Lakers, I really didn’t like that move,” Durant said with a slight smile. “Steve Nash is a great point guard, man. He gets everybody involved, a great shooter, takes a lot of pressure off Kobe, so I’m very upset that he went to the Lakers. I wish he had gone out East.

You know what, Kobe is dropping on my list further and further. If he lobbied (begged) Nash to come, how much help does this guy need? He seems to need completely stacked teams to even have a chance to win a championship.

It doesn't help when there's hole journalists like Paola boivin and Paul Coro use hyperbolic imagery in their articles about Nash leaving to make fans think this is something they should be livid about.

You little . I should cut you for using my main man Sjax's quote.

Anyway, please dispute that Kobe doesn't need stacked teams to win. Also, please dispute that he doesn't beg for getting elite help every time he fails to win.

Kobe, by himself, without elite help and talent around him = Loser.

    So, yo Kobe clown.
