The big mistake for these teams is that they overdo this lineup during the regular season. Save it for the playoffs so you don't wear down and that teams don't figure you out. Miami made the decision to go small in the playoffs and it changed everything for them.

Yes you need to be strong in either 2 ways. Incredible athleticism and incredible shooter. Miami had both. Why be conventional when you take advantage of mismatches?

Miami winning it all was scripted. Thats why Stern nixed the CP deal to LA. Everyone knows D-12 was the next shoe to drop. CP-Kobe-D-12 would have kicked Miami's ass. Thing is, I still think as currently constructed, Nash-Kobe-Pau-Bynum will get it done v. Miami small ball. Size always matters if you can use it. Now we have a playmaker that will ensure our size is optimized.

small ball was never the problem. The problem was previous "small ball" teams were teams that went small because small lineups with better shooting/floor spacing was the only way their PG-oriented offense could the pick and roll enough to produce efficient offense.

Plenty of teams have used small ball at key times in the playoffs. The 08 Celtics for example closed out several key games with KG at center and James Posey at PF.

Nash doesn't utilize size, he utilizes spacing. He and Pau will click well but he and Bynum won't develop chemistry any better than the chemistry he developed with Shaq.

Without Howard, you have no chance. Bynum is too weak defensively in the interior.

That's a misnomer because you never really had size for him to work with. The best big he ever had didn't rebound or defend for . Plus he lived on the perimeter. Bynum is better than that $100M man. So is Pau.

Shaq was washed up when he went to Phoenix. Bynum has soft hands, better array of low post moves, and can shoot FTs better than the Shaq you guys had.

Pau started at center v. Howard in 2009. How'd that turn out? And Bynum is a better anchor than Pau.

Terrible comparison since Pau was in his prime and Kobe was closer to his. The Lakers are a different team now. They have no chance with such lack of speed in the interior.

No. And the scary part is Bynm is 2-3 years away from his prime. Yet he's a better defensive anchor than Pau.

Bynum will on your frontline playing with Nash. Who's gonna stop him? Camby? Anthony? Bosh? LBJ? Who damnit?

How the should a big not rebounding/defending affect Nash's ability to utilize him?

lol Lakers won't even get pass OKC. OKC is younger and have your number as long as Perkins neutralizes Bynum.

Well you are a Laker fan. And Perkins happens to guard someone he is comfortable with. Good that he sucks against my team as your team can't go small.

our small ball seemed to work out fine in the finals but don't get fooled by the ephemeral success of small ball tbh, which was due in part to the fact the OKC had no real threat at the low post.

we were just so damn good we were bound to win that whatever tactic we use, however, if they got some sort of a big weapon in the paint like bynum against our small lineups, we would be ed

could've been much easier i think, we won that this year but phili remains the biggest obstacle in our way to achieving continuous success. should get rid of him the soonest we can tbh

Small ball worked for Miami because the Thunder only had perimeter scorers. Against teams with legit offensive bigs it won't.

That's why I think Splitter would prove to be more of a headache than Perkins.
