I found a book (23 dollar book for a quarter at a yardsale) he had written (yep, didn't know this) about his life story. Yes like with so many black kids he didn't have a father in the home. So his mom/grandma did the best they could. Which was pretty bad. The guy grew up unable to live a normal life. Very strange upbringing. As his father lived just across the street with his other family, yep very strange. How bad was it? Yes, it was finally found out, Terrell found his..."sorry son but I can't buy you any gifts for Christmas, my other children come first"...father.
As a kid Terrell was slender and weak and as we know he is very dark. He was poked at and made fun of, beat up. That went on for years, then here came basketball and then football. Then the weights!!! Obviously he outgrew (literally) the beatings and being picked on. As we all know the guy is a rock.
Anyway...
He'd end up at rinkydinky Chattanooga College in Tennessee (he was from Alabama) Who can tell me what conference they are in?
That's as far as I got, not that we don't know his story as an NFLer. Something he never watched on TV because he wasn't allowed to watch TV as a kid. He did however know about Jerry Rice. Who played at rinky dinky (not as rinky dinkey) Mississippi Valley State (they averaged over 50 points a game with him and QB Willie Totten)
Reading him you can feel the kid in a mans body, totally unaware of how this big old world operates. He really does have no clue how things work. Yes yes he had a messed up childhood but we all grow up, I don't think he ever did. When he talks about all his antics you can tell he thinks being in front of a national audience as a represenative of an NFL franchise and the NFL has nothing to to with him. It's all about him.
The guy however was a great receiver, one of the best ever. No position has so many great players from Rinky Dinky State as wide receiver, hmmmmmm???

Jerry Rice went to a Mississippi Valley State.
Yep, it's one of those HBCU schools in the Southwestern Conference. That league has had a ton of great NFLers.
We don't however see too many coming from there now.
MSV State set all kinds of records in Rices senior year. They ran a spread with QB Willie Totten in the shotgun throwing to 5 receivers, Rice being the stud. Scoring over 70 points in a game afew times.
