Dwight has been see-sawing making the Nets his exclusive team and preferred team for months now. Lakers likely can resign him if they got him, you would have to be sniffing paint to think anything he says is not susceptible to change. The Lakers have also been pursuing him knowing he says he would only sign to Nets. However, the Rockets might want Dwight but the Magic have made it fairly clear that they prefer to deal with Lakers or Nets. Bynum is their ideal package, Lopez is what they seem to be willing to settle with, but Rockets can't offer too much that makes sense.
Bynum is also adding to the Drama, but it's likely just him trying to stay with LA and he would settle for Magic if he had to. If not, Rockets would love to get Bynum since they can get somebody who will sign to them for sure and Magic will likely get a better package than Nets.
A straight up Houston - Magic deal will leave Magic hosed worse than with Nets and Rockets would still be in a mess.
